Quoted from pinlawyer:I want a QS SO FKN BADLY!! And a nice Big Game to replace by beater. And an O-1 bubble to replace mine, that's scratched. And a SG. And.....

Quoted from Classic_Stern:Using the 7 year rule of 1/2 of the games exist every 7 years ... that puts you around 35-40. i would say that is right.
35-40. I know of about 7.
35 Pinsiders show it in their collection.

While Classic_Stern uses just a few drops, I prefer a "wetter" approach. I spray each square of M.E. with one or two squirts straight from the concentrated Simple Green sold by Lowes. I scrub for 3-4 seconds in one small area and then wipe with a dry cloth.
Here is a Stern Star Gazer that I cleaned up with this approach.

Quoted from Tighe:Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out a value on my Quicksilver as part of a trade, how does mine compare to the ones that sold for $2,500?
I need to replace/fix the player 4 display, the playfield has wear and the backglass needs to be touched up.

Yours has more playfield wear than Tiger's game. And the backglass is not as nice. And the display brings down the value as well.
So with all of that, you would most likely find a willing buyer at $1,800-$2,000 mark.
Quicksilver is a hot title.
While this game would have been a $1,300-$1,400 version in the past, Quicksilver is no longer a $1,300 title.
So, if your trading partner will not give you at least $1,800 towards the trade, then you should sell it. Because I know that it would be gone pretty damn quick once it hit the market forum.
Just my 0.02.

Quoted from TigerLaw:Looks great. I'd love to have a restore job on my QS. Wish someone in my area did restoration work on these sterns.
Keith Holbrook is not too far away. He's doing my Centaur & Fathom.

Quoted from brenna98:That's a load of bull.
He probably never really looked into it. Just told you something to shutdown the conversation. Drop target mechs are nothing more than some right angle bent steel with holes drilled.
Also, if people are asking north of 4k for a fully restored Quicksilver, Seawitch, Stargazer, there is no reason why they can't build them.
I for one, would defiantly buy one! It would save me tons of time searching for a project, begging for unubtanium parts and updating outdated technology. Take a look at the Total Nuclear Annihilation or the Tube Time thread; same concept; lots of interest.
My magic number is $3,500. If Stern can create Classic Sterns NIB for $3,500 or less (street price), I'm a buyer time and time again.

Quoted from DNO:Decal is actually from PAA, not PAPA.
I thought it was only on Nine Ball, as it also has "tournament pinball" on the backglass.
I figured it was the release during a big tournament or something.
Meteor may also have it, maybe I've just never noticed.
Meteor does indeed have it too.
