Ok I have joined the Club late last year

My Curtain Quicksilver i will call her because when I got her she was all dressed up, and it was not breathing ,not sure how many of these are left in the World but it seems the more this machine grows in popularity the more seem to be dug up,
i feel this game one of best old Sterns ever made, the sounds are Amazing

Some pics of when i first got her

Some pics with Curtains removed

After a few months of playing it & getting working 100% i then tore her apart to do a Restore Tart up to try to return her to her forma Glory

Also have been Listening to The Classic Pinball Podcasts you guys are great so much Knowledge

Quoted from cottonm4:

A turquoise and purple cabinet for a pin with a green play field. What a color combination That sure is a nice looking play field. And your QS has the black and orange apron. Apron colors seem to be all over the place.

Playfield had a Mylar Fitted but was not worn through like most normally are

So many many Different colours for the Aprons I found for the one machine , but i did change mine during the Restore to something a bit more green

Ok so heres some of the Restore pics Cab Re stenciled Door Restored Legs Powder coated

just because there was not enough green the apron had to go green as well ,red sort of did not suit the machine

Quoted from cottonm4:

I assume the play field on the right is a Mirco unit? Correct?
Nice restore on the cabinet. And apron, also.

Yes the new Playfield is a Mirco

I also have the BG Resto backglass

It is stunning ,the only thing is that the light doesn’t penetrate as well through as the original, but if you put LEDS behind it ,it will be fine

Ball Guides yes please I will take a set

Quoted from cottonm4:

It looks like you are talking to yourself. But I'm guessing there is a message in here for someone.

I think he means we are now up to 15 sets of Lane Guides

I got one of the very first QS Mirco Playfields
I did the swap over all most immediately

You ask if it has any problems, that’s a understatement, pooling Chipping , need more then ten fingers to count up all the issues

I will show pictures later if anyone wants to see

I think the problem is it needs a long cure time

Quoted from Crispin:

Don't worry Pete your playfield has been populated with titans installed and has been curing since last summer. She is perfectly flat. My apologies Dicky I hope that didn't come off as rubbing it in. Yes you definitely deserve a replacement playfield for that horror show.

Nothing to Apologies for , I am a big boy, he did send me a Replacement ,
(Mirco Said in email

I do have it... we have two options now. I can send you one I have on hand with the same process made but more curing time or I can make one with the new process which does for sure not have issues like that but I do not have them on hand, which means it will take approx. 4 weeks to make it. Not sure if you want to wait so long?) I Decided To WAIT

I had it recleared about 6 months ago & its sitting for at least another 6 months

I am not doing another Swap & have it happen all again

So in the mean time I will just keep thrashing the old playfield

Mine originally had the Black Red version, but changed it to Green Green

Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:

Wow really??! I had similar issues with mine, Mirco essentially told me to F off.
If you have the time and inclination, I'd recommend re-clearing the playfield. Mine has been perfect since having a pro clear it properly.

So did you repair your Original after your Micro had problems

Or you got another Mirco and had it re cleared and have no issues now

#1708 1 year ago
Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:

I sold my original playfield once I acquired a Mirco QS. Mirco refused to acknowledge any issue so I repaired my Mirco. My clearcoat guy was hesitant to touch it given the clearcoat process Mirco uses, but it turned out well. Nice and hard, unlike Mirco's.

I got a replacement from Mirco & got Geoff to rub it back & re clear it

Been about a year now, still a little hesitant about installing it & having it all happen again

I think I would burn it to the ground if it happened again
