Quoted from SMP14:

Hello, I am about to pull the trigger soon on a mirco quicksilver pf +plastics. I am turning a Stern Magic into one. I believe I have everything I need except the metal lane guides. I bought SG guides from Mantis pinball but he doesn't have anything listed for QS besides a DIY kit guides.
https://mantispinball.com/product/misc-ball-guide-kit/
Would this suffice? Anyone have any extra by chance? Want to weigh my options. Thanks
Stephen
Edit: I did a search for "guides" on the forum and see cottonm4 sent a set to Mantis im going to reach out to him when he's back and hopefully I can get a set made. Thanks all for contributing into creating them

I did not know Mantis made that kit. For QS, you will need one with a longer length for the orbit.

I cannot swear to it, but when doing a check between Seawitch and Quicksilver, I THINK the two orbits might be the same length. In seeing the lengths Stern went to to cut costs, I would not be surprised if I learned Stern had some Seawitch orbits left over and them employed them on QS.

https://mantispinball.com/product-category/seawitch/

If the orbits are different lengths it is not more than an inch or so. Ask him to make you one for Seawitch with 2"-3" extra length on the right end, the shooter lane end. Then you can position the orbit where it needs to be at the let spinner and cut off any excess on the shooter side.

I think djblouw has made Quicksilver ball guides for people in the past.

Well, I've joined the club. Started with a Stern Magic, now we are here. Got the foundation set up and now its time to wire up the inserts, and then put all switches/mechs in place!

Edits As I'm looking through the pictures on this thread, I have made a mistake putting lights (similar to seawitch) where the drop 4 bank drop targets are. Those should be leaf switches.

Looking good. I'm so excited to have my QS done. I farmed the whole damn thing out though because I'm lazy.

I used to have that exact tile on my basement floor.

And don't forget, the top lane guide lamps are controlled, not GI.

folks I've got those rubber posts stoppers on my game and I'm fed up of them falling off, what size of nut do I need?

Normally, a 6-32. #6 size with 32 threads per inch.

THIS^^^

Very common mistake when doing the playfield GI wiring on QS. Good thing you spotted it now & not later in the build. It's a tricky area to wire.

My boner was not leaving enough space for the rollover switches when I laid the ground braid wire.

Noticed that when deciphering the schematics for the play field harness. Didn't really get it until I watched video of it playing. Lightbulb moment.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Finished writing the light matrix and now working on the switch matrix. My dad is making me 3d printed drop targets that glow in the dark for the center bank. Should look cool!
I'm also looking for a QS backglass if anyone has 1 avail., or I will buy from BG resto again. Thanks

Got the game to boot, was able to flip and score. Light board has some SCRs out...took me 2 or so months to build! Almost done
