Try a base of Rustoleum Aluminum (professional series) with a topcoat of the metallic. Sounds a little overdone but I used that approach on some automotive stuff and it looked very nice.

Make sure you test spray a couple samples first before hitting your cabinet to #1. Confirm compatibility and #2. Make sure you like the result.
