So I'm finally doing some on and under playfield work on my Hollywood Heat and just started doing switch adjustments when I noticed something... odd. One of the slingshot switches is a brand new mechanism, wired in and everything, yet whoever put it in didn't actually FASTEN it onto its mounting bracket, so it's just sort of dangling in its socket. I'm amazed the slingshot has even been working considering. o_O

So my quick question is: Will any kind of screws that fit work, or do they have to be special? Or in either case, considering each switch is fastened in with two screws, would a quick fix for the moment be to steal a screw from another slingshot switch and just use that, then put a couple new screws in once I get some more parts?

sure whatever works, i here deck screws work a treat. kidding, borrow one for the time being and take an extra one with you to the hardware store. if in fact new i would hunt around for the screws, they may have just fallen out. way in the back, stuck on the speaker magnet, etc..

Those were the first places I checked. Couldn't see 'em. I decided to just steal one from a switch on the middle-playfield slingshot as that slingshot isn't working for some reason, even after adjusting the switches and for the moment I lack the tools to properly diagnose it.

The new switch DEFINITELY works though. After screwing it in and adjusting it I could see it spark just like the other slingshot switches tend to do on these old Gottlieb machines. :B

About to make a huge post documenting my first foray into pinball maintenance... just need a half-hour or so to actually write it and format the pictures.
