Hey Guys,

How the hell do I take this diverter off? Seems like it might come apart in the middle but I don't want to get rough with it before I know what I'm doing.

Thanks

Down by the plunger, the arm with the spring is held on by one or two allen head set screws.

Loosen them and then pull the diverter up and out the top.

Awesome, thanks LTG

Does this "post" piece slide out or something though? It's wide above the play field but seems attached under the playfield

This is the part specifically

What game ? Maybe someone can look at theirs.

Do you have that collar/arm loose and able to slide up and down ? If not loosen the screw(s) more.

They usually pull straight up.

Did you loosen the allen head set screws on the collar ?

That post you see on the bottom extends straight through to the top. There's no screw involved with it. There's 4 screws that hold like a bracket, then the Allen wrench screws that attach the solenoid ( I think it's called) to the bracket.

There is play between the bracket and the balloon shaped piece of metal. Since the post above the playfield has a wide washer like appendage attaches to it, I believe it can only go up and out. Problem is, the post seems attached to the balloon shaped piece of metal.

The game is JM, the post is round but has one flat edge, I'm not exactly sure what collar means. Noob

Little better picture. I think the post needs to be forced through the balloon shaped thing.

Did you search for the allen head screws and loosen them yet ?

If not see the spring thing ? It hooks to the arm - see that ? On the other side of that arm, the thick round metal thing is the collar. There will be one or two allen head screws holding the spring/arm/collar thing to the shaft.

http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-16243 Look at this white water part - see the black speck on the collar ? That is an allen head set screw.

Your game has one or two of them holding the spring thingy to the shaft.

http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-17615 See the threaded hole on this one ? That is what you are looking for. That is where the allen head set screw goes.

Bingo! It was underneath the collar. I was confused I thought you were talking about these holding the solenoid on.image.jpg

I really appreciate it man!
