Howdy people,

I stumbled across this loose ground on my Diner. Before I try and fix it I have two questions:

Does anyone know where it's supposed to go? I can see that it's got a flat spot towards the tip. Also, it's incased in polyurethane tubing. I found it hanging loose down in the cabinet and realized it's supposed to run up into the backbox somewhere. Maybe underneath the rail for the backglass?

Second question: for a loose ground, can I just anchor it anywhere on the cabinet, like under a screw head, or tie it into an adjacent ground braid? Or, does it need to be placed precisely?

Thanks for your help.

On the left inside backbox, on bottom panel should be a vertical threaded post. That wire goes there, under a wing nut to connect to braid that goes to metal panel to connect ground to the boards.

Talking about this one?

Yes, there should also be a wire that connects to metal panel. Or just add one.

Like this? Also, I'm guessing I should staple it down so it doesn't accidentally make contact with anything... The speaker wire (ground) is mounted under the wingnut [along with ground braid traveling under the metal plate and leading to the boards].

That's not a speaker wire, it's a ground.
Just add another wire to the post, and loosen 1 screw that attaches metal panel, tuck your new ground wire under panel near screw, and tighten

Yep, thanks. I realized that after the fact (I'm new...)

I'll do that. Thanks!
