    If anything is not going to work, it's a USB port on some kind of a laptop; gamer or not.

    Programing EPROMs, and hacking cellphones over the years, I've found that laptops can be headache.

    Even using desktops, if you can't flash the OS your new phone, switch to the USB ports soldered ON THE MOTHERBOARD ITSELF, not the ones on the front of the case

    Use the shortest, high quality usb cable you have - not the ones from the gas station.
