Question: how to trigger ball trough solenoid?

I’m working on a mod to my Pinbot, I don’t have the schematic handy...hoping someone can answer the quick questions below.

Can someone refresh my memory - the MPu triggers the ball trough and shooter lane solenoids not by switching voltage, but by switching ground, right? In other words there’s always voltage on one side of the coil and the mpu closes the circuit to ground to trigger it?

If that’s true, is that ground easily accessible someplace as a test point?

Yes, connector 1J11 pins 1 and 3.
