My boss insists the CDC-100 compact disc cleaner (from the folks who make wildcat) is the same as novus #1. I'm skeptical. First, when you're cleaning cds, you want the light to pass through the plastic, so the laser can read the data. Whereas when you're cleaning pinball plastics, you want that nice shiny look, made by light being reflected. Second, CDC-100 smells much more strongly of iso alcohol than Novus 1. I know it's picky, and CDC won't damage the plastic, but I like the fresh-from-the-mold look that novus imparts, and I don't want to have to re-clean several machines. Is he full of it, or am I?
