I was curious if anyone has experienced excessive wear or dirt/grease permanently embedded in the wooden siderails and lockdown bar near the flippers where the players hands are. The wood seems awfully permeable, and would seem to be extremely difficult to clean without permanently altering it.

Has anyone mylared that area, or even considered sealing the wood siderails and LD bar with a laquer?

Thoughts?

Sounds like patina to me. People pay extra for that kind of thing, right?
