Has there ever been a game that would take points away based on a shot or some other ball action?

The closest thing I can think of off-hand is how you can lose big points by wagering on the roulette in Who Dunnit...

The first one that comes to mind is Gottliebs James Bond, that would take off five seconds when the ball drained. There's another one but I can't recall at the moment.

Bug's Bunny would take away points but there is still another one.....Hmmm.

Somebody made new code for Blackjack that I believe causes you to lose points when you lose a hand. Not official though.

You can trade points for items in Road Show...the choice is yours, but if you make it - points go down.

I’m pretty sure that on Williams Time Fantasy if you go around the mushroom shot the wrong way you lose points on your bonus or you lower your bonus value. Can’t recall exactly.

Doesn't opp pot have some kind of raid by another player?

Bride of Pinbot allows you to gamble with the risk of losing your winnings on the casino run and the risk/reward is significant.

Several games from the 30s would take points away based on pocket into which ball was shot.

I seem to recollect that Vegas (Premier/Gottlieb, 1990) had a "Double or Nothing" choice--for your entire game score--that sometimes came up at the left saucer/scoop. Think it was on the lit Select-A-Feature shot at same.

Well you could kinda throw JJP POTC liars dice out there if you decide to play for points...

Tee’d Off has a Double or Nothing mode where you need to hit a random shot within 20 seconds. Good way to get some really high scores.

But yeah - it's a head-scratchier to try and remember a game with an actual "minus points" target of some sort....the only really negative target I can recall would be the little "open zipper flippers" bumpers on Fireball and One Million B.C.

If you go the wrong way in the mushroom loop it just decreases the value of the loop shot...it doesn't reduce your score or accumulated bonus.

Bally Speakeasy has a roulette wheel with a 'Subtract A Ball' pocket that will result in lost points. I seem to remember Steve Kordek saying that this was one of Bally's dumber ideas.

Gilligan's Island will award points to other players with gift of the gods. I can't think of one that will remove points.
