I have a TOM and the right flipper seemed sticky ... when I’d release the flipper button, there would be a delay before the flipper retracted.

Made things like tip passes basically impossible.

I swapped the flipper opto boards and the problem stayed in the right. In fact after the swap the right flipper stayed flipped!

When I installed the flipper pcbs, I just bottomed out the screws. But I found by adjusting them, loosing the bottom one a bit, I was able to fix the “always flipped” issue and after more fiddling I got it working pretty well.

Is this normal? Or is there another adjustment someplace?

See pic for the board in question.

Thanks!

Thanks slochar
Forgot to mention something important: I rebuild both flipper mechs including coils.

I suspect the plastic spring war page.

Thanks ltg
I suck at explaining problems

I replaced both flipper buttons too

I think that’s the sum total of stuff I replaced relevant to this particular problem.

No metal tension spring?[quoted image]

Thanks guys. I’ll take a look again tonight and see if any bits are missing!

Is this the thing I should get? Is it compatible with my black plastic interrupters?

I could get some new interrupters too. Cheap enough. Would these work?
