I have one coil liner that keeps slipping out, it is on the kick out from the swamp on my TAF and it causes the ball to get hung up in there. If I raise the playfield up and push the liner back in it will hold for a bit, but eventually comes back out.

I am still pretty new to working on my machine, though I have had it for over 10 years, just doesn't get a lot of play and doesn't require a lot of work. So, what can I do to resolve this issue, do I need to replace the coil? Replace the liner (Sleeve)? Something else?

Thanks,
Phil

Any chance to show a pic? You are either missing something, or have the sleeve on backwards.

Its either in backwards, or the wrong kind of sleeve.

Some coils need flange sleeves. Below are some examples. Best way to find out, is get the manual on IPDB, find the coil in there, and see what type of sleeve it needs -- or someone may post the right one.

It's called a sleeve. Something is wrong with the way you are have it for sure. It shouldn;t be able to move at all, which means you're missing somehting.

Perhaps you are missing the medal part that screws into the coil mounting plate that holds the coil on?
Coil should be snadwhiched between 2 metal pieces.

Sorry didn't get back on yesterday to check for replies, I appreciate all the help. I will see if I can take a pic today and get it on here as well as identify the exact coil that it is from the manual.

Thanks for the help so far.

This is the part in question....so it should look like this

Go to your manual, or download it from ipdb.org, and snooping around to page 2-26 you will see the swamp kickout parts list. Seems the sleeve is 03-7076, but that might be wrong. PBL has that listed for otehr games, and another one for Addams...so if you have to, buy them both.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Yeah, I'm thinking this needs a sleeve with a flange, and the flange goes on the right side of your picture there, to hold the sleeve from coming out the top. Or it goes on the left side, under the metal retainer, but its really hard to tell from that picture, which side the flange is on.

Either the poster's original sleeve is not a flange, or the flange busted, so now the sleeve slips out...

Thanks guys, that does look like what I think it is from my memory. I will check for the flange and see if it is there or broken or maybe it is just missing.

Sorry for the very long delay in me posting back had a lot go on. I finally got around to being able to check this and it was a broken sleeve collar. I ordered an entire new set of sleeves for my machine, but just had time to replace this one. So far it is working perfectly now.

Thanks for all the help, I wanted to post back that this was the issue and it was fixed.
