Replacing my original rectifier board on my Stern Stars. On the new board there is no place to solder the white/red wire coming from the transformer. On the original the wire is solders to a pad connected to the VR1. Do I just solder this wire onto the the leg of VR1 on the non BR side?

You can see the wire on the lower right on the original boardimage.jpgimage.jpg

Now thinking this goes to E4. Can someone verify? Thanks

My memory says E4 is correct, but I can't guarantee my memory as 100% accurate.

I think stevekulpa.net will have a picture of the wiring in the Bally section.

E4 seems so be consistent with continuity as the original. I sent Ed at GPE a not just to verify.

Yes Taylor,
On my Stars I put the white/red on E4. (Also using Ed's wonderful rectifier board. Thanks Ed!)
Have fun and thanks again for the pics earlier.

Stars gets a TON of plays over here. Waaay more than the DMD's and a very close second to Grand Lizard.
Right now I'm in the process of ditching the stock/limp 4 chime unit for some bells to brighten up the gameplay and to make that triple bonus max-out even more gratifying to dance to.

Thanks for the confirmation, it was late and I didn't want to trust my own judgement. Been playing Stars a good bit when it went down so hope the rectifier board gets it back to all its glory.

Actually, that board doesn't look too bad and is most probably fixable with a bit of TLC.

This one, on the otherhand, is pretty much destroyed around J3 --

I plan on fixing the old board to have as a backup. Swapping in the new board did not resolve my issue unfortunately.

Is there a thread for your issue?

Not yet. I'm headed to ReplayFX tomorrow so am not going to get more into it until I get back and will start a thread then.
