Quoted from bluespin:I made my favorite meal tonight, a Moroccan Tagine. It’s chicken stew with onions, garlic, butternut squash, diced tomatoes, carrots, lemon juice and coriander. It’s like a mildly spiced Indian dish. The best part is the juices, the combination of vegetable broth, coriander, lemon juice and diced tomato juice makes this rich earthy sauce.
Technically I should no longer post in this forum as I went back to the office a couple of days ago. Please forgive me if I should no longer post here.

Keep posting!
Quoted from punkin:Did you cook all that today? must have a big family.
Ha! You could say that... I've been absent from the thread for a couple of months so I thought I'd post some past pics as well as recent ones
Thanks! My father is a hunter and so I'm lucky to have access to this meat. I'm glad you enjoy the posts!
Quoted from mtn-:I enjoy your posts bayoubilly70, you seem to eat alot of meat that is somewhat exotic to me.
Havent had rabbit in 20 years, its very hard to find in Norway. When I grew up in Sweden I had it sometimes, my grandfather used to hunt.
Id love to try buffalo meat sometime. Tried a quick google search for it, and only norwegian results are imported dog snacks made of hyde.
Quoted from Shredso:I love fried calamari, I've never tried squid any other way. How are you buying the squid? When I've looked in the supermarket frozen was my only option and when I fried it, it wasn't great.
I get it frozen at Market Basket. Thaw it in the refrigerator.
Quoted from mtn-:Damn. Your inspiring me with your mean italian cooking bayoubilly70. Im having to google after your every post here.
There weren't any leftovers
Quoted from Bax1:Took some of the left over Easter ham and made some ham & corn chowder. Was pretty tasty

That looks amazing! I could have used some of that here in Massachusetts... here's the weather here Friday. 9 inches of snow on April 16th
IMG_20210416_111814396 (resized).jpgQuoted from punkin:Is that for a child? Cause who chops a sausage up and into little pieces and then eats them?
It seems like most everyone..?
Quoted from punkin:I understand if it's an ingredient as most of the pics are, but i do see that it must be fairly common.
I've never seen it before except for kids who can't use a knife, so i've learnt something new and it's only 5.30am.
Is it only that particular sausage you guys cut up to serve, or all sausages?
If it was just myself, I'd just cut a slab off and put it on my plate. I understand the 'kids' comment, but in my experience serving it like that is not like a parent cutting up a steak for a child. Usually I see it served this way sliced up (if not part of another dish) if its for a group of people - not just children. I come from a Polish family... kielbasa was a staple of food ... I live in the United States so maybe its a "Polish-American" thing? Or maybe its just my family..? I don't know.
Quoted from punkin:No worries mate, i have never seen it before is all. Didn't mean to cause offence.
None taken - no worries! Keep cooking those great dishes and posting them
Quoted from Bax1:that looks tasty. Please share recipe
It was really good... I had more for breakfast.
Recipe:
https://www.thecountrycook.net/crock-pot-buffalo-chicken-pasta/
Note everyone's crock pot is a little different - with mine I actually cooked it on low for 4 hours and it was ready (versus the times given in the recipe). I like to add some black pepper at the end as well.
Quoted from punkin:Slow braised lamb shanks with shitakes/
[quoted image]
That looks amazing! Now I need to go get some lamb...
Thanks for the information. Most of the lamb recipes I cook are from Spain. I usually do a lamb leg, shanks, or chops. The rib chops are actually my favorite.
Quoted from Bax1:Love grillin season! Simple bbq pork chop and grilled squash
[quoted image]
That's a good meal! Like the char on the meat and squash. Rice looks great too!
I eat that and then its couch time.
Chicken marsala and cucumber-dill-tomato salad. I didn't go back to see if I posted something like this before but it's "fresh herbs" season finally here and we made it with our garden herbs. If it's a repost the pics might look the same, but with the fresh herbs (thyme and parsley for chicken, dill for salad) the flavor is totally better
IMG_20210609_191119307 (resized).jpgQuoted from Dee-Bow:Did u make soup out of the weiner water?!
Hahaha... No, maybe next time
Quoted from Bax1:You could’ve at least grilled it lol would’ve taken same amount of time
Call me odd but I like boiled better than grilled for hot dogs.
Quoted from romulusx:My wife likes to boil hot dogs too,but I won't let her.I jump up and start the charcoal chimney and drop emwhen their hot.
If you take and add a chunk of hickory to the fire you can take them dogs to another level!By the way is your avatar from the Nintendo game?My boy and I played a lot of games together on Bayou Billy
Yes it is... played many games on it myself. That game could be hard!
Quoted from punkin:From one small meal guy to another, get some smaller plates. You'll feel fuller when you finish.
Haha
Quoted from mtn-:Smoked reverse sear yesterday.
[quoted image][quoted image]
That looks damn good!
Quoted from amkoepfer:Just made lasagna stuffed meatloaf. Fantastic!
[quoted image]
Wow!
I made you one to send but then I ate the second one too...
Here's the next best thing to sending you one:
Quoted from punkin:All good, got sick of waiting so i had curried beans on toast.
Post some more seafood dishes I really enjoy those
Quoted from Bax1:Thanksgiving dinner for the wife and I. I think I might’ve made a little to much
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
