Hello,

As I go on home service calls I am running into corroded 40 pin connectors on the junction between driver and cpu board. Both the male and female pins are culprits. I always like to replace both as they are a common point of failure. Problem is I cannot find them anymore. Any solutions or sources for these connectors? Thanks in advance! Ive checked normal suppliers and they are out of stock for a while now,.

I just bought some of these (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/molex/0009484109/WM13407-ND/863351) from digikey. Haven't had a chance to install them yet but they look correct?

Also Great Plains Electronics.

If you can’t find the right ones, pm me and i can hook you up. I bought mine from GPE a few years ago and didn't use them all yet. The pins have the longer mating length for the bottom entry connector.

GPE has been showing out of stock you can always email Ed to confirm. Not sure if the other sources of connectors have the right length but here is the part you want.

I think I saw something where kahr.us was working on some sort of solution for the interconnect issue as well. rkahr is that a thing?

The last replacement sets (couple years back) I ordered from Big Daddy. Check there if you haven’t already!

Molex 09-52-3102 was the part number I would buy from TTI but it seems to be obsolete and sold out everywhere. GPE website lists Molex 09-48-2106 as a good substitute but they are not in stock anywhere I can find.

Molex 09-48-4109 looks correct and the only difference compared to 09-48-2106 I see listed on digi key is that it has "board hooks" which probably do not get in the way, but if they do you could snip them off. The old 09-52-3102 may have had the same board hooks now that I think about it and they where not used, but did not get in the way.

For the extra long headers I could only find those at GPE which says he had custom made. The old Molex part is obsolete and I never found a suitable substitute in another brand. Anyone know of an available sub?

Long length Molex pin header
26-60-2101 - 10 pin header (16.97mm mating length) available at Mouser

Bottom entry Molex female sockets
09-48-2086 - 8 pin socket, still available at Mouser
09-52-3082 - 8 pin socket, still available at Mouser and Arrow
09-48-4109 - 10 pin socket, looks like these are Phosphor Bronze
09-62-6104 - 10 pin socket Phosphor Bronze (End of life) handful left at Mouser

Just to add to that -- I believe part number 09-52-3082 was the original part number that they used when they built the cards but is obsolete.

I'll be buying another 10K of the 16mm headers as soon as I get off my lazy ... and get my next connector order going. I have never seen part number 26-60-2101 before but they would work fine.

New Molex 10-pin bottom entry connectors -> I have had a couple cases on order for two months, they aren't due until mid-August.

Quoted from G-P-E:

For 26-60-2101, Mouser has the wrong part picture showing a 90 degree header. The following is the real thing:

He had it on display at Pinfest a few months ago. His solution involves pressure contacts, rather than pin and socket connectors. It looked interesting.

I will buy at least a couple full bags of the value line 0.100" cut to size long mating headers when they restock. I have been using locking headers and cutting off the lock because it is cheaper than doing the molex cut to size long mating length 0.100" part number.

Nice! I never was able to resolve to these in a search or at least a place that had them in stock.

26-60-2081 is the eight pin version of that so five of those would work too. In stock at digi key.
