I've been having issues with the ball richocheting off the back of the quake shelter on my earthshaker. Even when I hit it dead on, there's a good 50% chance it won't go in. Would putting some felt on the back be considered cheating or otherwise looked down upon?

Its your machine so I would say do it if you want to. I am sure there are some who would frown upon it though.

Sounds like you could use some Drop Dead Foam from Pinbits:

I did this in our MM's merlin hole to try and keep the new playfield from getting too beat up. I used a thin strip inside our PotC chest as well as it's notorious for shots going all the way in and then rolling back out. Now it keeps shots in almost 99/100 times. Great stuff.

IMO it's only cheating if you attempt to mod a machine that you don't have keys for

    Your machine, have fun
