Quoted from Toasterdog:Everything still 100% this morning. Lots of kids got introduced to pinball last night
Didn't take many photos, but everyone had a great time, especially the kids.
How did you get Jeff Bridges to come over and play?
Quoted from Mk1Mod0:How did you get Jeff Bridges to come over and play?
I thought that same thing!
Here are some pics from our scaled down Halloween display Friday night. We normally do 4 machines and move out the truck to make room but the bad weather said we left it in there and only did 3. We also normally do only horror themed games but by the time we got to moving the 3rd one around we went with Elvis for the simple (and pitiful) reason that it sits closest to the door. I repeated our tradition this year, putting out Mystery Castle and Tales from the Crypt (last year was Scared Stiff and MC). Lots of people played and enjoyed the games. Had the usual kids starting four player games and leaving the games mid play, but whatya going to do! Kind of sad that joe q public gets to play a MC, whereas most of the diehard pinheads here have never had the privilege.
Halloween is coming, quickly. Who's gonna do it this year? I'm strongly considering moving three pins and three vids into my garage, decorating it for Halloween and letting peeps come play. Who else?
I only had 1 trick or treater last year and that was my niece. A couple of years ago I moved to another neighborhood or a dead end street with large gaps between houses. Really miss the old neighborhood in regards to decorating the front yard and watching all the trick or treaters. Awesome garage and line up though!
supposed to be a mild winter in the midwest this year, and halloween falls on a saturday. If it doesn't dip below 50 during the day, I'm seriously considering at least tossing one or two machines out in the garage and blast a heater to keep it warm.
I wish I could do this, but moving games from my basement up the stairs and around to the garage would be a huuuuge pain.

I'm right there w/ you. I am going to haul twdle out of basement to the garage and see if I can surpass my average of "1.2" trick-er-treater a year . I figure it's on a Saturday..... maybe, just maybe I can get more than one person to walk down my driveway. FWIW I have given out $10 bills to those who have braved the 200 ft. + walk up my driveway the past two years so I'm down $30. In total for the 6 years I have been here I have only had 7 tick-er-treaters. Easy to keep count / remember such a low number. I will post some pics when I get it all set up. I figure forget the $10 this year and get twdle to garage. Anyone have any ideas on how to tarp off garage? I was thinking some black sheets? I am going to have to figure it out in the next week.
I've got a primo Haunted House. I have thought about putting it out for people to play because it is most likely spending its last Halloween at my house.

You have to get that one out there.
Quoted from HighProtein:Most of my games are on location, so they get played by strangers daily...
You mean paid daily? Where they at? Arlington? Regency Sq./Southside? Landing? Orange Park? Lmk i'll hit em up next time i'm down there. Make sure they are on free play.
You know..... This is a damn good idea.... I love seeing others enjoying my machines. One could argue that they'll take a beating - but not much could compare to the bashing my no fear got at expo - and it perked right up after I got it home and dedicated a few minutes cleaning and adjusting things.
Since all my machines are upstairs anyways (basement is being built out) - it's just a quick few steps to dump em in the garage.
Any pinsiders in or around Valparaiso - and looking for an excuse to flip a few games with the kids - pm me - I'll give you my address.
We don't get many trick or treaters, but honestly - I don't much care
Okay, less than a week to go. A bud is coming over this week to help me move my three pins and four vids from my game room to my garage. I also have some black sheets lined up to hang up to section off my garage and hide some of my stuff from prying eyes. I also have some Halloween lights and decorations ready to hang to compete the feel. Also have a cool RGB light projector to hang up that will cast onto my floor. I'm considering getting some black lights and neon decorations to finish it all off.
That said my wife is skeptical. She wonders if anyone will want to stop and play. Not your problem I said and I am certain no one will stop to play if I don't set them up. I typically get 60-70 kids stopping for candy and with that many parents as well I could have a good turnout for my first time doing this. I'll post pics as soon its set up. Wish me luck!
I have strangers play my games almost weekly when they come and pick up their playfields (for the ones who pick up in person).
As far as having a space to have them play on the move. Not possible. Plus, here, it's been rainy windy and cold every halloween. I don't think it would be a good idea to say. " HEY kids......Want to come inside and check out the play area!"

Wow and the same people did not hit your place over and over for that cash? or tell others about the free cash?
man thats a really good idea, maybe I can get someone else on this island into pinball. But it wouldnt go well for my machines. Our subdivision goes off, my neighbor gave out 600 hot dogs last year. Heres what it looks like here, and this was 3 years ago, its grown bigger. I have to think about this one.
Quoted from Joe_Blasi:Wow and the same people did not hit your place over and over for that cash? or tell others about the free cash?
Well that's what I thought would happen at the very least I would get more tricker treaters last year but no go... The parents were reluctant to take my cash.

Me too, but dragging games up a flight of stairs is brutal.

Quoted from Jared:Ok, so this Thursday night... Weather permitting... When all those local kids and family's come strolling by looking for candy: why not show them some pinball?
Took me 2 years to find a good gif for this topic... I found it.

Wow.
Nice job with that to bad the weather sucks today.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Nice!
Thought Id share these....A friend made these from 6.3V Matrix Pads being released up to Batteries....
Lasted longer then the girls!image1.jpg image2.jpg
Now that's a clever use for your leds.
Of the 20 kids that came by this year, 1 teen noticed 2 pins from the doorway. He says, 'You have 2 pinball machines?' I said 'Yes'. As he leaves he says to his 2 other friends "How Cool is That". The pins were off, sitting in low light. Smart kid!
