Not fading for me. I have a nice Centaur II and Paragon in transit and will be picking up a fully restored EBD and Flash Gordon at TPF. I'm going to challenge Sam Jones to come take an ass kicking on FG!!
not fading for me either
Have you seen how stupid I am putting the effort into restoring a Viking? I think I am crazy.

Looks perfectly logical to me!!
I picked up a Star Gazer right before Xmas!
...oh right.
It's actually delayed me getting on with my Flash Gordon restore by about 6 weeks, but I'm heading down to work on FG right *now*!
Went to Humph's house Friday night... he has MET premium, TWD LE, Ripley's.... all perfect & nice.
........ But we ended up playing an old, worn out Bally Eight ball deluxe that was sitting in a corner awaiting restoration. Had no speech, a broken drop target, & a bunch of burnt out bulbs. The classics are classic for a reason!
Oh yeah, before we started in on EBD, I set the new GRAND CHAMPION score on his MET - 350,771,130
Quoted from jgentry:Coming soon
That Flash Gordon is in perfect condition, is it a new playfield?
Quoted from BJM-Maxx:That Flash Gordon is in perfect condition, is it a new playfield?
It's a new lower playfield with a restored original upper playfield. Going in this cabinet soon.
Quoted from jgentry:Turned out really nice. Keith Holbrook does excellent work if you are looking for someone to do a classic Bally restore.
Do you have contact info for him?

I just sent you a PM with his email address. He normally has a decent back log of games but it is well worth the wait.

Wow! That looks fantastic.

Damn
Nice looking FG

Where is he located? That FG looks dam nice!

He's just outside of Dallas.
Getting a Vector tomorrow to go with its other 2 triplets. That will bring me up to 7 Bally SSs along with the top 2 Bally EMs.
What a great thread, I've gotten bit by the Bally bug as well! I'm hoping to find at least one Bally this year - either EBD, FG, Centaur, or Skateball (maybe Fathom but seems too hard to find). Ballys in general seem harder to find where I am, so it might take a few years, but the wait will be worth it (I love the hunt)!

Totally new to EM and I have no chance to play. So just asking: how do your EMs play compared to the Ballys SSs?
Quoted from Luppin:Totally new to EM and I have no chance to play. So just asking: how do your EMs play compared to the Ballys SSs?
Most if not all of the later-generation Bally EM's have rectifiers on the pops (and strong flippers too)... they play just as fast as the SS games in my experience.
Quoted from Luppin:Question
Centaur/Fathom are top 5 all time.
Space Shuttle/Sorcerer are top 20 all time.
You can do things to make Space Shuttle and Sorcerer meaner games, but a Williams will never be as mean as a Bally...

Quoted from Luppin:Question: how do you rate those classic Ballys compared to later early SS machine (pre-System 1)1? I mean, good 84/85 machines like Space Shuttle or Sorcerer?
Sounds kind of like my game room! Sorcerer, Silverball Mania, Mata Hari, and Spy Hunter!
I have been drawn to the Ballys lately! Sorcerer is badass, but right now I am finding more fun on the Ballys in my house and around town.
Hahahahahhaaaa are u sure??? I can post dobble abount if you want, i hate sellers that are cheap with photoes when i buy
Quoted from DEN:Anyone wany to buy my perfect playing original fathom??
2650 euro
So, is the Bally fever already over? Or is just Fathom not having that much lasting power?
Damn I want a Fathom in the worst way but they're always over seas or gone by the time I see the ad.
Picked up my first Bally solid-state yesterday! Going to try my hand at routing and this is the first thing going out into a customer's store once I shop it out. (and enjoy it for myself a little, VERY exciting as I haven't bought a new solid-state in a while due to pricing inflation) It's a tiny bit after the extremely classic era of Bally solid-states but I'm still very excited and I think the public will enjoy it too!
I also went on another semi-Bally-linked adventure over two days starting three days ago but it was very personal, special, and cool so I think I'm going to keep that one to myself, at least for right now.
But, definitely in the Bally mood!
Anyone ever play Frontier? I've never played one, let alone seen one in person. I also never seen them for sale. Anyone know the value of this game?

Most played classic in our house.
Reviving this topic as been playing my Embryon and Future Spa a lot and fixing them up a little. One thing with the spinners I thought I’d ask people - I usually only get around 10 spins with a good shot to the Embryon spinner. I’ve put a little silicone lube in it which helped, but it just seems like the actual spinner itself is too heavy. Whereas with Future Spa I can probably get 15-20 spins and the spinner seems lighter (and has a different mech underneath).
Just wondering if anyone has a different experience and what else they’ve done to improve spins.
PS with my Embryon spinner I’ve tied in a red spotlight pointed at the spinner which gives a cool effect.
Quoted from NicoVolta:And how! Class of '81!
I sold my EBD84 a few years back and on the search for another one to pair up with Flash.... forgot how good these can be!
