So here are my pumpkins I carved for my 2016 Halloween display.

I usually carve 15-20 a year, but this year time and other things have really cut my carving time.

In anticipation of the inevitable questions, these are foam pumpkins. I use to carve real pumpkins, but I got tired of all the last minute carving with the end result of everything rotting in a few days. Of course, if I really liked a carve, I would have to redo it the next year and so on....

So I switched over to foam pumpkins. They allow me to carve year around as I find time to do them. I use a dremel and various bits and make some using my own patterns as well as some I got from various sites off the internet.

    Enjoy
    Andretti

    Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

Nice looking pumkins, I look forward to seeing your post each year. The house in flames wins my vote for 2016. Do you recommend a battery powered flickering candle to light them?

i actually use plug in lights. The battery powered lighting gets expensive. Here's a shot of my driveway last year....might show you why I feel that way:

Thank you all for the comments. It seems like a kinda stupid hobby to mess around with. But the truth is I get a lot of enjoyment out of the kids reactions and the adults looking at me like I have some sort of OCD. LOL I probably do....

Thanks for all the comments. The pumpkins might still be available at your local michaels or Hobby Lobby. I would recommend the funkin brand, typically found at Hobby Lobby.

It is definitely a seasonal thing to buy. By tomorrow, they are likely going to be 60% off or more, so now would be the time to get any if you are thinking you might like to carve some by next year. Otherwise, you wont be able to find any in stores till around August or so.

Yes, the house with the cloud above with a face in it is from Fright Night movie poster.
