Weren't people predicting tons of ppl backing out of LE spots after we got gameplay footage? Where are the all the newly opened LE spots??

#3602 1 year ago

Didn't recall that one. People were saying that the wait will open up a few spots in a few months time if it's long.

Just played it in Milwaukee.
Really cool game all around.

it is all Horse Shit.

I hope you find a LE but there is already flipping for profit going on. I cannot see people dropping out.

Great game! Played a handful of times at MGC. Cannot wait for our LE! I don’t think many are going to pass on this one that’s for sure!

#3610 1 year ago

I played PF about 3 games at MGC. Playing a game at a show is probably the worst place to figure out if you like the game or not. I'm also in on a LE and didn't really want to spoil the excitement of figuring out the game until I unbox it. One thing that stands out is the game really feels like a high quality solid game (like all other CGC games). All the shots feel good with a solid classic old school feel to them.

#3611 1 year ago

I played it at the Amusement Expo International (AEI) show this week in Las Vegas. Greta game.

What I learned from talking to others at MGC... Pulp Fiction as a theme is much more desired then I ever gave it credit for. The game is simplistic, fun and seems well built. Based on what I saw this weekend so far, long lines for the game and the excitement over this theme I highly doubt many spots will open up over the next year, if they do it will be marked up pretty good.

#3613 1 year ago

This game will make serious coin at the local pin bar (doubly so if they stretch for a LE and have the topper going)

I was at MGC as well, played twice and couldn't agree more with these comments and many of those prior. Theme is very well received by many who were waiting in line to play - even the die hard video game/cosplay people there.

Glad to see four of them at MGC. Gave me hope that just maybe it won't be late 2024 before they start shipping. My experience, spots always open if another hot title comes out and people are tired of waiting if long production wait, but they likely will seek profit on this one. Theme and style of game resonating like Supreme does for a smaller niche.

Thanks for the pics. Seeing PF next to the CCr sure is helpful comparing heights. I was thinking PF would be similar in height as the older 70's-80's pins, but it does not appear that way unless there is an optical illusion.

I suspected this. The theme is likely to draw in a big audience from the general population not into pinball. It’s a mass appeal cross-over theme.

IdahoRealtor He may have been referring to a poster from years ago on RGP. The person posted on every new Stern pin that it would be the greatest ever and he was getting one and would never sell it. At least for a week or so actually.

He once referred to a pin coming as Greta.

It appears it will be a huge win for CGC.

I have an LE coming and am excited about getting it.

Price is what's going to make this a flip as it was priced right.

Good luck to the ones who want in as it seems like a long list of WTB in the classified marketplace.

They also had the "Operator's edition" at the show. That comes with a standard Happ coin door that allows easy note acceptor or card reader installation. Same machine height as CCr. I did not take a picture. The flyer shows the Bally retro door as well.

EVERY game that came out he liked and he always mistyped it as greta. You could count on two things upon a Stern release. 1) Jersey Jack would be quoted as having tried it and liked it and 2) this person would have bought the game and proclaimed it as greta. This was really funny when he said it about a real stinker.

Such a looker in person. It's a bit slower player, and ball times are longer than I would have thought. My wife kicked my ass on this game, which is unusual, but that's not a bad thing. Made her want it more. Very hard to hear anything at the show which was expected, but still always disappointing on these things. Now for the long wait for my LE.

Just removing the centre post will fix the longer ball times.

Am I the only one who is counting 16 segments? Which is very cool, but maybe the flyer needs updating? Or am I crazy.

I don't think we have but maybe 1 ball between us go down the center (or at least nothing really bounced off the post). I think most went out the right lane.

Thanks for those pics. I did not take any pics of the one on the right, with the standard coin door. I really like the retro Bally door version.

I was lucky that I had Jury Duty scheduled for the week. Because of that, I had to stay in LV. Otherwise I was supposed to go work the Tribal Gaming show (IGA) in San Diego. Glad I didn't have to go as the weather was worse in San Diego and I was able to make the AEI show......

Pretty funny that a mere three weeks after PF was announced, this thread is 73 pages long and the game won’t be in production for 5 months. I am already going stir crazy to play one.

Quoted from jackd104:

Speaking only from my own experience owning a Wonka LE, the build quality is very high. Playfield is perfect with a beautiful clear and has not developed any issues. And support has been more than I could hope for, with JJP resolving two issues within 48 hours of my reporting, sending me at no charge new invisiglass for a mere small blemish and a new plastic that cracked.

Out of my 17 games, 6 are JJPs and I have to say that when I bought my first game, I put a small scratch on the Invisiglass by having the coin door open….of course I didn’t realize that was the cause until years later when I’d had more experience. As this was my first NIB, I mentioned the scratch and with no further questions asked, JJP sent me a new glass and told me to just keep the first one as a spare. I ended up gifting it to another pinhead.

Personally I have a blast playing their games and every single time I’ve had an issue or a question, they’ve been totally responsive and nice as pie. I have every reason to believe that they’re qualified to handle their thing….best to just wait and see what they do.

Quoted from iceman44:

Since I have such shitty games why would you assume that Haymaker? I’m in Texas, western, probably gonna love it!

From the GTF thread and tons of other threads it seems like your shtick is that you like games that everyone else doesn't, so that was the basis of my joke. The Texas connection does make sense.

Got a number of games in on Pulp at MGC. First few games I wasn't really feeling it but by game 3 I was really starting to dig it. Hard to decide if I liked The Godfather better or Pulp (foo fighters was easily the best out of the new games). I wish I could have heard the game more but obviously its tough at a show. I could tell they had the family mode on too. I think this is not a buy for me, but I'd love to put more time in on location. The art and color really popped. The topper was cool, but it really wasn't thaaat cool. You could get the version without the topper and be perfectly happy. 2 things I noticed were the old school coin door, while super cool, the start button was kind of weird and hard to press. Like not hard to push down but it was smaller than you'd expect and kind of like you snag your fingernail slightly pressing it. A very minor nitpick overall.

The other thing I noticed were the side rails where it meets the glass were extremely sharp. I'm pretty sure I was on proto games so maybe it will get cleaned up for production. I have a bad habit of gripping the game right in that area and they were tearing up my thumbs. I kinda remember this being a problem on early runs of MMr. Every CGC I ever played wasn't like this but they also had the black textured paint.

Dimpling is just part of the new machine settling, regardless of the manufacturer, correct? I have zero experience with a NIB, so feel free to say I'm being dramatic
