sorry, I read too fast and thought that happened after you messed with it.
If the machine has been in great operating condition, I wouldn't start shotgunning fro solutions, you are likely to create a new problem.
I'd play the heck out of it for a few days and see if continues and if you can observe any patterns.
If you just have to touch it, as noted above, I'd check your power and caps.
