What are my options? As far as I know, the only self-blinking LEDs are the 455 replacements. I believe they only come in white and I don't think they would be bright enough. Any other LED would require some sort of external blinker circuit which is what I was hoping to avoid. I don't think color changers would look right because the circles wouldn't move around. I believe there are C9 twinkle bulbs, but I don't think they would be significantly brighter. Another option is the flash button which would accommodate any standard bulb (up to 60 watts!). But that product looks to have disappeared. I've also thought about experimenting with bright LEDs and old automotive flashers. I'm thinking I'd have to add extra load resistors to get the flashers to work.
