UPDATE:
I have given up on the High Speed hardtop ever happening.

Thanks. Know you'll get it done. Just a moment of minor pinball delay despair.

Quoted from kermit24:

This is in a different league than a CPR Playfield. First, the CPR playfield is around triple the cost. Second, it is a LOT more work to do a complete playfield swap versus a topside teardown, prep, and install.

Yep, exactly.
Also, there were over 17,000 High Speed games built, so there should be plenty of market for both products and it's great to have choices.

Quoted from turbo2nr:

Made a total mess sanding down playfield, then took me weeks to clear, sand, clear, sand, clear, polish.

I'd trade that labor, and $150 in automotive paint for a ready-to-go playfield with new inserts any day!

You will get clear paint, and dust all over the light sockets, ruining them along with everyother bottom side part. Requires removing everything to do it correctly.

I think in the end it is cheaper to just swap entire playfield after me doing 6 playfields this year. It just takes too long, and in the end you have 20-30yr old inserts and a sticker on your wood.

It is a LOT less work doing a total playfield sway vs/ sanding, clearing, removing everything, forking around with old inserts, and reinstalling it actually. I know because I have done it many many times this year.

Did my Space Shuttle with a hardtop. In my kitchen. Sanded only the inserts and the areas directly adjacent. Didn't clear anything. Just polished the inserts nice and clear.
If you don't want a Hardtop, why are you so anxious to get one?

Sad news folks...
ANNOUNCEMENT: As of today, July 2, 2019, no new orders will be accepted until further notice.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLACE A NEW ORDER AT THIS TIME.
We've had to temporarily shut down operations for several months while we retool our production. Never fear, we will be resuming production of our Hardtops and Wall Graphics. We just can't take new orders or make any products until our new systems and printers are up and running.
All orders that have already been submitted will be completed and shipped on time. However, no new orders will be taken at this time. We have temporarily closed our online store.
When we are ready to take orders again, we will update this site, our Facebook page, and on Pinside.
We look forward to getting back to business as soon as we can. Have a great summer!

I give up. I'm just going to sell my High Speed with the semi-trashed playfield in it.

Quoted from nitrojcrawf:

Does this sound fishy to anyone else that’s it not a production retooling.

Yeah, hope I'm wrong - but I don't think they are coming back.
Glad for Skypilot that he got his done, and love my Hardtopped Space Shuttle, but this has a bad feel.

Got mine today and already fucked it up. FML...
Mostly good but one obvious one.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Sorry to hear you have an issue.
I'm not seeing it. What went wrong?

Quoted from Outsidedge:

We have 6 finished High Speed Hardtops ready for shipment. We are NOT turning on the website for another 30 days or so... but if you would like one of these it's first come first serve.

Received mine yesterday. Looks great!
Thanks! I hope you continue to make these great products.

Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:

If the gray looks bad I'll take another stab at getting a good brown tone maybe.

You'll be surprised how little you notice that area once you get the rails and plastics back on the game.
I pretty much ignored that area until I had the Hardtop fully installed. Then thought I should have cleaned it up when I had the chance, but too late. Don't really notice it at all now.
