I'm not seeing it. What went wrong?

It's 100% my fault. Look closely at two of the upper triangular inserts and you'll see they show just a tiny amount of wood. Otherwise it is flawless. My plan is to say oh well and just play it nothing can be done now lol. The hard top itself looks perfect.

It's a world of difference between what it was. It looks 100 times better now even with my error. Ty for the kind words. Kills me to mess stuff like that up but I agree I highly doubt most people will notice /care

Based on your pics, it looks like yours has some uneven lines in areas. Just opened mine and see the same.

I am interested in comparing with others to see if theirs are the same. Attaching some example pics where black outlines are jagged or broken (next to cop car).

Am I being too picky here?

Attaching zoomed pics with some of the items circled, along with a pic from my PF to illustrate what I mean by the edges of the black outlines.

On my PF, the edges of the outlines are smooth. Here, they look like they were scanned from a touched up PF.

It was more about wondering if what I saw was specific to mine, as well as if waiting out the summer for the retooling would result in any improvements. Seems to be a “no” for the first one, guessing a “no” for the latter

Looks like the police car had a shadow, and that missing Black was actually part of the shadow color, Dark Grey. I wouldn't consider that an issue.

Yeah, some Black borders could have been fixed in software before printing. Of course!

Yes that is the shadow of the police car. For the black border lines, I wonder if the printing process they use could have a slight limitation. Either that or the source image wasn't high res enough. But I still think it looks fantastic.

As far as seeing the wood around the inserts... I saw a photo somewhere of someone who used touchup black paint around the inserts before applying the hardtop which made any minor alignment still look great.

Just curious how many people that ordered on day 1 have received the Hardtop for High Speed or a shopping notification? I see one person has here, just curious. No shipping notification for me yet.

I placed my order for two on day one. I received them both yesterday.

Got mine on 7/8, ordered on 6/25.

Would be really interested in how many orders they received. I'm presuming the reason for the pause to retool is because they feel demand is sufficient to make it worthwhile. Hoping that's the case, as I want them to continue.

Hardtops are a hobby sideline in a Graphic Arts business. I suspect the business is upgrading and so the "surplus" time and equipment to do Hardtops is going away. But the new stuff will probably have more capability, be faster, more accurate, yada, yada. Good things to come. Unfortunately, more waiting.

I'm super bummed out that I didn't order mine in time before they shut down. If some one ordered an extra and wants to sell let me know.

I predict 50 restored High Speeds hitting the market in the next month or Two. In a few weeks or so, CPR ships their new playfields. (Very sold out and not taking orders btw)

I have followed CPR quite close for a long time while I was waiting for Diner to be done. I have never seen them mention High Speed in all of that time. Where was this discussed? All I'm aware of is that it sounds like CPR did HS years ago and those have all been used up in projects or never come up for sale.

They had a pre-order like, 2yrs ago! Lol

They got the cnc machining done for the wood about a month ago and in que for printing. Almost ready for shipping.

Strange. I ordered day 1 also and have not heard a peep from them.

I got my "It's shipped" notice about 3 hours after it arrived

Only reason I knew it was coming is that I've signed up with FedEx to email me anytime a package is shipped to my house. Hope yours is just silently in transit, too.

Interesting. That feels like about the same time I waited for Diner to be done and don’t remember ever seeing anything on their pre-order page. My fiend and my self both have HS games that we would have signed up for had we seen them. No matter. I own both of those games now and when they re-open I will be ordering 2 HS Hardtops. I wanted to get them day one, but had some other pinball repair expenses happen to games on route so I had to pause on the Hardtop. Was going to be able to buy the day after the announcement that they are retooling. I’ll be ready to order when they are back up.

CPR has finished the Inserts for HS replacement playfield.

On to the printing! (They told me yesterday)

Is it normal for CPR to not mention a playfield they are making? No mention of High Speed on the website.

Why is it that they list some playfields in production, CNC cutting, fitting inserts or whatever but not others?

Let's stop talking about CPR playfields and lets start posting photos of our High Speed Hardtop installations and progress.
Mine arrived on Friday and like many of you, I didn't receive a shipping notice - just a nice surprise on the porch. I am still working on stripping the playfield. I'm fairly new into the hobby and have never stripped a playfield before or attempted anything like this for that matter... But I've been following the guides and other advice everyone's been kind enough to post and I've been taking my time.
So, start posting those progress photos...

Yikes! Looks like your backbox was as bad off as mine. Rebuilding one from scratch since mine is held together by L-brackets.

Putting that aside to get started on my Hardtop this weekend!
