I've taken 10-12 games to PATZ the past 4-5 years. All of my games are "players games". No collector's machines. So I'm not really worried about wear and tear on the playfields. A good cleanup, wax and a new pinball prior to the show helps. Plus, during the 3 day shows the games get less than 400 plays. The big pro, to me, is the challenge to never have a game go down during the show. I've come close - there's always something but each year it gets better. The biggest con has been loading those machines up the stairs out of a basement. Fixed that this year, new house is a walkout to the game room.

I haul my games to the show set up, on their legs in a covered trailer. Most of the damage (if any) happens in that trailer on the way to and from the show. I do use packing blankets and some foam noodles but hey, we have real winters here in Michigan and potholes happen!

Another pro: last year a mom with two small girls walked up to one of my games and those girls wanted to play it. I found a stool they could stand on and showed them the basics (push the start button, pull the shooter, press the flipper buttons). The girls had a great time and the mom said "Thank You". Made my day.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Potholes in Michigan?

Only 1 or 2 but I always hit them. You know how it is.
(And both ways, too. Going to the show and going home.)
