Can't wait to see it when it's done, CG!

That sucks. I hope the EL wire wasn't too expensive.

Is the EL wire always on, or is it tied into the GI somehow?

I know there is a guy on YouTube that added a bunch of EL wire to his STTNG. That game has more optos than any other game I can think of. I wonder if he experienced any of these problems, and if so, how he solved them. Perhaps it's a Stern thing?

Quoted from u2sean:

It was just suggested to me to attach a ferrite core around the power wires going into this opto to reduce/elimiate the EMI.

That is exactly what I was just about to suggest after reading CG's comments above. It's possible that the wires attached to the opto board are acting like little antennas and amplifying the EM noise being emitted by the EL wire. A ferrite core installed on each wire close to the board may do the trick.

By the way, CG, that new improved arcade mod is the sh*t!

Well played, CG! All you need now is some type of light up mod on the left side of the playfield to balance the arcade and Flynn's sign.

Quoted from coasterguy:

I found some 2.6 MM that is said to be 3x's brighter. Dare I change it?

The stuff you currently have on it looks plenty bright in the photos. Three times brighter seems like it would be blinding.

Is there a way to rewire the service outlet so that the power to it shuts off when you turn the pin off?

The game is looking great, CG! I can't say I'm digging the yellow flipper rubbers, though. Is that what came on the game? I'd definitely change them to something else. In fact, I'd probably swap out the yellow bats with white ones and then go with blue or orange rubber.
