Quoted from Morpheus:

also planning on making a laser in the canon, for aiming

If you make a laser mod, please share to the group. I would love to add this to my T2.

finaly the decals are on the cabinet!
the cutting out of the letters by hand did not go as well as i hoped.
so, for now the square on the side decals is empty.
there will be new text printed and cutted out by machine and these letters will be placed back later.

and the backbox.
finally removing the protective foil feels a bit like christmas

#106 3 months ago

on the front decal, i have cutted out the T2 letters.
also made 2 cutouts on the bottom side.

IMG_4244 (resized).jpg
#107 3 months ago

the seam of the metal shell in the center of the front is hidden by the small tab between the T and 2.

the arcs meet up nicely. the grey lines below don't. not much i can change about that.
unfortunately you can't win it all..

IMG_4260 (resized).jpg

IMG_4259 (resized).jpg
above the arcs the decals are cutted back to show more of the stainless corners on the cab.

#109 3 months ago

next up: siderails!

removing foil and cleaning up the stainless.
when cutted, the protective foil ets melted on to the metat at each cutout..

#115 3 months ago

This is some real sexy shit. You’re certainly doing it right.

#116 3 months ago

#118 81 days ago

last few days i have been busy cleaning all parts of the inside.
wire harness, mechanics etc. not very many pictures to be posted..
ordering small parts, getting the PCB's shipped for technical overhaul.
display panel is almost finished.

#119 80 days ago

Amazing Babee!!!!!

#120 79 days ago

That thing is insane. Keep up the killer work man. I want to see this when it's done.

3 weeks later
#121 55 days ago

well, it's been a while since the last update, but here are some new photos.
the speaker panel is finished and installed. the backbox hinges illumination is installed and the backbox is installed on the cab.

IMG_4830 (resized).jpg
#122 55 days ago

the speakers are red illuminated.
for now, there still is a orange plasma dmd.
this will be replaced later for a colour display.
not sure what system yet. Colordmd, or some other brand.
suggestions anyone?

The ColorDMD has the video mode in color, so even though I'm the guy who colored T2 for Pin2DMD I think the ColorDMD is the better choice, LED version.

also made a new backboard.
my first intention was to place a small metal emblem, just to replace the Original BB decal.
now made a bigger version, wich covers the complete backboard, the entire backboard is now stainless.

Absolutely beautiful!

What do you use for the blue glow? It must run on GI 5v?

amazing work! this is executed so well I suspect that any of the original cabinet or backbox hardware that is not upgraded will look out of place

i have used EL panels for the blue and red illumination.
this material is very thin (thin as laminated paper)
the EL panel circuit runs on its own inverter, (producing about 120 volts)

yeah, still don't know if i will keep the Original style translite, or install a custom one.
think the Original version looks pretty good.

#130 54 days ago

these last few photo's where very crappy.
here are some new in higher resolution.

this is what the cabinet looks like at this moment.
the text for the cabinet side decals has not been finished yet, hope this will be done very soon.
at the back of the cabinet, i would like to have the same warning tekst like normal, but executed in black vinyl.
these vinyl decals are also still in progress.

#133 54 days ago

Absolutely amazing work. "A" for effort.

To be completely honest though, I don't like the look. The side of the cabinet just looks wrong. Like a big hole was covered up by a piece of sheet metal. All the lettering on the side rails, blades, etc..., make it look too busy.

I'm not trying to be mean. Just my opinion.

#134 53 days ago

no problem man.
everybody's opinion and advise is welcome.
can't win em all.
the big hole in the side decals will be filled with it's Original tekst T2JD.

#135 53 days ago

Nicely done

Just need to get ride now of the Chrome legs
And follow same color metal like the rest
Makes it more uniform

Just what I would do

#136 53 days ago

I really like it, love the siderails and the overall look. Looking forward to the final pictures.

Great job morpheus

He's waiting on the rest of the art.

I *REALLY*like the red T2s by the head. The rails are unique but I do think regular old mirror blades are the best option for T2.
That being said, it's still incredible and so much better than just another chrome T2.

I am waiting to see what the final look is, but if there is a title to get this treatment, this is the one. Craftsmanship is top notch. Looking forward to watching your progress continue!

think the Original version looks pretty good.

I have mixed feelings about the original translite art. I agree it does look pretty good, but also it always looks a bit odd to me with the 2 Arnold heads. Even thought they represent two different looks for the T2, it looks repetitive.

Actually I was surprised when I did a Google search on T2 translites, there are quite a few alternate versions offered for sale. Some of them look pretty good.

All the rest of the machine is looking great!

I made an Alt that I think is pretty great and doesnt mix up wrong generations of Terminators

#141 50 days ago

well done.

editing artwork is out of my zone.
i think i'm going to stick to the original translite for now.

#142 47 days ago

Amazing work - well done!! Love the side rails and can't wait to see what the "plastics" look like on the PF.

It'll be interesting to see how much the game weighs once done ... at least it's not a super pin (those are so much heavier to start with)

#143 46 days ago

I like the art on the original translite. Looks good though.

#144 45 days ago

kind of stuck with the cab for now. waiting on the final artwork to be finished.
Next up is the playfield.
I did not have a playfield tipper yet, so made my own.
Here shown with my old playfield in it.

the new playfield will be something special, to suit the cabinet!
It is a custom made, one-of field with different colours than the original one.
silkscreened the old fashion way.
Many thanks to Peter and Leon from Buthamburg - Germany for making this possible.
