I love how all the parts fit perfectly together... dimensions seem perfect... crazy skills!

But.... you started posting only few hours ago... how much time did it really take you to reach this point ???

I'm pretty sure it was more time then it took for him to post.

#60 3 years ago

WOW!!!

Yeah, but it’s fun to see the progress faster. I’ve posted project threads that took forever to complete and seemed to stagnate.

#62 3 years ago

thanks.
yeah, took a lot of spare time to get this far.
just small steps at a time.
i still have got some photo's left to tease you guys, but then the 'real time' will kick in and posting will be a lot slower..

here are some pics of the metal plastic set.
this is also made of brushed stainless.
there's still a white protective film on it.

underneith each metal plastic, will be a blue semi-transparant version, so all cutted out parts of the metal will light up.
the plastic version has a offset of 2 mm from the outer contours of metal part on top of it, so the outer edges of each plastic will also light up.

red arrows are for the rotation of each plastics , the way it's mounted on the playfield. red Arrow shows the brushing direction.
to get all brushed marks in the same vertical direction, so all brushing marks will line up nicely.

#78 3 years ago

Wow.
Just amazing work.

Damn!!! I’ll never be able to play this beauty!

#82 3 years ago

This is coming to be a stunning project. The coloured plastic underneath will work great ....that way you wont have the Gi shining in your face through cutouts

#83 3 years ago

exactly.

i did not wanted that and you'll see all wires etc exposed

yesterday, i have cutted the outer contours of the cabinet decals.
normaly the exess material gets trimmed off, after installing the decals on wood.
i would like my decals to be trimmed back a bit more then usual, to show more of the stainless on the cabinet edges.
to prevent the risk of scratching the metal, when trimming back the decals the normal way, i had to do it before putting on the decals.

#89 3 years ago

fist, made 3 metal templates, using the dimensions of the metal shell.

IMG_4152 (resized).jpgIMG_4152 (resized).jpg
#90 3 years ago

the inner contours will be the outer dimensions of the decals.
the cutout slots are for alligning the decals edges underneith the template.
this also offers the oppertunity to allign the decals arcs before trimming.

using a metal table and heavy duty magnets to make sure the template stays in place.

#93 3 years ago

Wow. Koolest build ever, I think.

#94 3 years ago

FANTASTIC! Following.

#95 3 years ago

So these decals are going over the stainless you build for the cab?

#96 3 years ago

yes. sounds crazy, i know.

This game will be amazing. Looking forward to following the rest of this thread.

1 week later
#99 3 years ago

precutted the corners of the decals so the stainless corners of the cab will be visible.
next post the decals will be on the cab!
