This thread has been too quiet lately, it’s making me worry!

Don't worry too much. Work has been demanding as have a number of other projects that warmer weather brings with it.

PinBrew II took up a bit of my pinball time this past weekend. . . but it was time well spent!

I have the decals to finish the Frontier Apron; if I don't muck them up you may see me post about that soon.

Thanks for checking up on me!

And can I can't 100% say that seeing a flat board on the bottom of a newer playfield didn't plant the original idea in my head. I simply can't remember. The only thing I remember is wanting to use the LED strips to avoid sockets and trying to figure out a way to mount them, and popsicle stick is what I came up with. But I definitely wasn't aware of the smaller sticks that Pinball Life offered, because I would've just bought them instead of all this work! (Ha). I am a longtime Pinball Life customer and would guess I've spent thousands with them. That won't change. There's room for lot's of parts makers out here. The more the better.

My Frontier rebuild will be with 100% Yoppsickles for the GI.

I made a point to stay up past bedtime last night to focus on some decals.

I kept it simple with the shooter guide. Original on the right, repainted piece with decals on the left.

First layer applied. I opted to go with a silver vs. the original color -- I believe it was white at one time. They match more than you'd think in person, the silver just has more of a reflective component.

Top layer applied. A couple bubbles to work out but I'm happy with the result.

Next up will be the apron. I'll take a little more time to get everything aligned right -- those skinny stripes can be tricky!

Taxes done and already received some of my money back this year.

I am enjoying the game though.

Time to dress up my apron.

Started with lining up the first/silver layer. I used some tape at the upper corners to hold the decal where I wanted it while I pulled off the backing -- much the same way I do with cabinet stencils.

First layer is down all in one attempt. I probably could have done without the "For Amusement Only" for a cleaner look. I can always take it off.

For the next layer I cut out individual pieces rather than do it all at once. Easier to align everything that way. Started with Pinball.

Then the Bally and Art-Deco Flying Pinball. At least that is what I'm calling it.

5J5A9941 (resized).JPG5J5A9941 (resized).JPG

More or less finished. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I'll need to source up some Apron Cards -- or make a set of my own.

Apron installed on the playfield.

I also dropped in my new lockdown bar. No glass just yet as I'm sure there will still be a switch or two that needs adjusting.

Its nice being able to play a couple games with the apron/shooter game in place -- the ball does not fall down into the cabinet that way!

Anything been going on in the workshop over in Ashland?

Depends on which workshop you are asking about.

Since Pinbrew I've been dedicating most of my time to working in a building that will be the new office (hopefully later this year).

So if cutting concrete to put floor drains in counts, then yes. . . stuff has been happening. On the plus side there will be room for a couple more pins vs. what I currently have now.

I have been looking around but i am not seeing a decal for Frontier spinner, is there a way to get some?

I thought that I might have had some made. . . but I am not finding any of the original style "eyes" spinner decals in my pile.

I do have a couple extra of the snake style that I thought looked good on this game -- if a set of those would work for you send me a PM and I'll hook you up.

No need to worry. I still have a couple more projects to work through.

The job has kept me rather busy this year. Even the chores at home have me buried in work!
