I'm restoring a Gorgar and have an issue with scoring, when you turn on the machine the bottom pop bumper starts flashing then when a game starts and the 3-bank of targets next to the pops all drop that pop lights solid but only scores 100 points, when that bank drops the 2nd time the next pop lights solid and it scores 1000 points but the previous pop still only scores 100 points, when that bank drops for the 3rd time the 3rd pop gives 1000 points but now the first pop bumper starts giving 1000 points, WTF?

The next issue is that if a game is started and you have anywhere from 1-4 players set up and lets say the first player is up, if you push the start button it adds 9000 points, push it again and another 9000 and so on and so forth and it does the same thing for players 2-4 and on the 4th push of the start button it triggers the snake pit and magnet and that's for whichever player is up. How can the start button add points and trigger the snake pit?
The boards are all original but were bench tested by a knowledgeable tech and new chips were installed.

Make sure you don’t have any switches stuck in the ‘on’ position that shouldn’t be. Get all drop targets up and all balls out and go the the switch test. I think it is the fourth test in the sys 3-7 machines. No switches should be activated at that time.

If all good there make sure you didn’t place any of the connectors off by one pin (the ones without the key can do this). This will give all sorts of wacky results.

Thanks Mike, I'll double check the switches and connectors again.

Solution was that the IC-17 chip on the driver board was bad, essentially connecting the cathodes of all the switches in row 3 together, during the switch matrix test when pushing the credit button(switch 03) not only would switch 03 display but 5 of the other switches in row 3 would sequentially display.
