I have an Elvira and The Party Monsters that I just got back up and running with help from all you great pinsiders on another thread.
I was so happy today to come home any finally play it when I had a drop target opto not registering. I took the assembly out from underneath the playfield to clean it up and fix it. After putting it back together and back into the game I powered on the machine and I have no music, just speech. All the sounds were working minutes before I did this. I have no idea where to start on this one. What the heck could I have done by messing with the drop targets?!?!?! Speech but no music? Any help on where to start is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Check your 12 volts at the power supply.

Just checked it. Everything measures as it should.

Thank you

No 12V = no CPU boot on Sysyem 11, with the game booting, there has to be 12V from the power supply.

Reseat all the cables going to/from the sound board in the upper left of the head.

Does the game give a quick beep or series of fast beeps on power up? That is the sound board diagnostics giving an "all's well" or error code.

Rob,

You are the Super Hero of Pinball Tech!

After your post I thought maybe I'll try swapping out the ribbon cable between the two boards . That was the problem!

Thanks once again!

What was the problem that fixed the game to not reset

It was the slam tilt switch.

Totally overlooked it.
