Weird problem on a Pro Pool that I’m “storing” at a friend’s game room.

Game has been playing great for a couple months and suddenly, the right flipper was not returning to it’s home position.

After inspection and disassembly, nothing was broken. Plunger slides freely in the sleeve (I cleaned the plunger and replaced the sleeve when I shopped the game).

After playing around with it, it looks like the bottom of the return spring is binding against the top of the flipper lever arm. Even adding an extra turn on the spring did nothing.

I also inspected the other flipper and that one was also slow to return, but the spring was able to push the flipper back to it’s home position.

Any advice on where to look next? I am going to order new bushings and springs from PBR.

Thanks,

Alberto

Picture please of each assembly, sometimes a picture can show the issue right away.
I would order a complete flipper rebuild kit from PBR to be on the safe side.

Also make sure the flipper isn't dragging on the playfield, nothing worse than flipper drag marks on your playfield.

Flippers do have good clearance. I’ll order the rebuild kit and go from there.

Thanks

Rebuild kit fixed the issue. The return springs that were on it just had enough contact with the part that grabs the flipper shaft to make them bind

Interesting... I’ll have to keep a lookout for that on our games.

Once I noticed that I could have fixed it by just adjusting the flipper pawl (I think that’s the name) down slightly, but best to put in new parts.
