$1000 for a 1984 Williams Space Shuttle , Minimal wear on playfield and in good shape. Is this too high for a private sell?

Any pictures? Minimal wear due to full mylar? If so, is mylar bubbling/peeling? Any planking or raised/cupped inserts? Cabinet shape? Any fading on cabinet or backglass? Backglass condition? Condition of circuit boards? Plastics? Ramps? Displays fully working?
Hard to put a value on a game with "good shape" Game seems to be increasing in desirability given its release on the Pinball Arcade combined with the CPR playfields that were released. It's a classic.
Good Luck!
$850 is about right for a sys9 game in decent shape, so if it is in really good shape playfield wise, $1000 isn't unreasonable at all.
If it works 100 percent, and your happy with the condition, pull the trigger. You won't regret. Fantastic game!
I'll have to take some pictures when I go look at it again. Backglass was in superb shape and the cabinet was a great shape as well with no fading. Playfield just some wear near the top with slight fading. Plastics, ramps and shuttle all looked good as well as the displays and sound.
Quoted from vwallat99:Thinking about taking it, Space Shuttle was a good pin back in the day.
great game, sounds like you better grab it before someone else does
Bought it for 800, Picking up this weekend. Pics to come soon but after looking at the machine again it is in great shape. The Cabinet was ridiculously flawless and looked brand new. Backglass was perfect. The playfield wear that I referred to before only consisted of minor wear up on the top by the bumpers which wasn't too bad and a small part of mylar bubbling. All in All very happy with the condition for the price it will be a good add to the collection. I would like to know how about doing an LED convert. @enjoyvelvet I really liked your LED set-up that you had in your video. However I'm fairly new to pinball's or atleast do not have any knowledge or experience on working on a machine. Is this something that would be difficult to do? and also how many LEDs would I have to buy to complete the conversion.

Hey man, great price! As for LEDs you can do it yourself. Start with the backbox...those are easy to do. A lot of the inserts will require you to unscrew the bulb sockets from the underside of the playfield so be careful not to break a wire or diode. On my YouTube channel I have another video where I explain how to install LEDs. Go to Cometpinball.com and let Art know I sent you

How do you find out the number of LED's I need for the machine?
Quoted from vwallat99:How do you find out the number of LED's I need for the machine?
I usually look at kits online and see how they have them color-separated and then do the 100 for $45 thing on eBay through Titan or Cointaker. I only use LEDs on inserts and the backbox though. All other GI I use incandescent.
I did it the old fashioned way... got a piece of paper, popped the hood and counted up the numbers and colors. Also, remember to get non-ghosting for inserts. Not all of my inserts flickered when I originally used regular led's, but about a third of them did and I had to go back and re-buy the correct bulbs.
Also circling back to the original topic, I think you got a great deal. Sounds like mine needed a little more work than yours will and I paid $900 for it... but I don't regret the purchase at all. Great game!
I paid $600.00 for mine and it needed quite a lot of work (working on it). Prices are quite a bit higher in Canada though.

But you have the advantage of partially bartering with beer for a pin in Canada.

What !! You think that all we Canadians do up here is drink beer ???? .......well, ok, maybe we do ! lol
Actually, I helped the guy that i got it from move a new machine into his house after we lugged out the Space Shuttle and then we drank beers and played some games before i left

Nah, beer consumption just follows a logarithmic curve the further north you go, regardless of whether you are in the states or Canada. I just couldn't help myself throwing out a stereotype.
Never been to Aurora, but Toronto, Buffalo, most of Vermont... Beer consumption is definitely higher there than here in NJ. Something about the cold and snow 6-8 months out of the year makes you want to drink more beer.
If you were further north, I would have made the joke about your kitchen becoming a deer meat processing plant one month out of every year.
I paid $500 for mine. Beat playfield, but not the worst I've seen. Needed main board repair, score displays, sound board, new lamps, rubber bands etc, flippers, cabinet is worn too. I'm up to around $850 so far. I'll be in under $1000 I believe when it's done (minus any cabinet/aesthetic enhancements).
I got mine for 150, rough but not terrible PF, 1 display out. Nice cab, will be at expo with it with its new PF.
Quoted from thedefog:Never been to Aurora
Its only about a 40 min drive north of Toronto
Hard to tell, but the playfield looks to be in better shape than you typically find with these. Good pick up!
Yeah I feel good about it, she will look good right next to my centaur. Have the LEDs ordered and on the way can't wait. Great game and classic.

Just the top by the bumpers is a little worn down and the Mylar that shows up on the picture.
Quoted from snyper2099:Looks like a nice $1,000 Space Shuttle to me.
$1200 just from those few pictures. It is in really nice shape. Great deal! Now play the hell out of it.

Thanks thedefog your centaur II is making mine jelly. I appreciate the comments I will defiantly will play the hell out of it.
My Centaur II is being bad lately, so you shouldn't be. Had it running finally last night, but discovered a bad PIA that was causing a switch issue, which lead to swapping around PIAs and me inadvertently shorting the MPU to the ground plate when I was wiggling it around in those crappy IC sockets...
Just ordered new PIAs & EPROMs for it. Gonna inspect the rest of it for any other damage tonight. For the few minutes I played a screwed up game with switch issues, it was enjoyable! One of the side effects was constant release of orbs, so it was non-stop 5-ball multiball.
Space Shuttle is an OUSTANDING pin. I got my girlfriend the game b/c she's a space camp junkie. It's a great gateway pin to other drugs (I mean pins).

I can see the progress that your going through on it though. That cabinet freshly painted looks awesome and I wish my cabinet was that nice.

Haha yeah I think so too but I will be stopping for the time being after the purchase of this one.
