Somewhat interest in this one. Seems fun and I like the look and theme. The last price check was a couple years back.

What the hell are these things selling for these days? Anyone?

#2 8 years ago

Not a very high demand title as far as Sys 11s go, I'm thinking around $1000-$1200 unless very nice which might push it up a few hundred bucks from there.

#3 8 years ago

That was about my thoughts wayout. I don't mind paying a bit more for shopped, etc. Less I have to do.

#4 8 years ago

I just picked up a really cherry one from the Cleveland show. It's super fun. Have you ever played it? The song really gets stuck in your head. "Riding on that lucky river boat". My wife loooovvesss it.

#5 8 years ago

I have seen these typically around 900-1k. Shopped leds around 12 if really really nice. Just not much demand. Good luck.

#6 8 years ago

I agree 1200 shopped.

#7 8 years ago

so you PM'd the guy and now doing a price check?

#8 8 years ago

Played the heck out of the one that was in the overflow room at the Cleveland show.
Fun game The theme song will stay in your head. Be warned !!!

Your point?

This is hugely important.

Any pin that holds my wife's attention in the gameroom while I'm playing ACDC is a keeper for me!

#12 8 years ago

I would think an understanding of the price range should be before you make an initial PM offer. Just sayin'.

My initial "pm offer" was to go see the pin.

Thanks for your help though. Appreciate it Lance.

I brought a really nice one of these a while ago in the UK for £1000. I know I paid too much but it has been on my hit list for a while and had seen a few really bad examples so for me the extra was worth it. Its not a very deep game but great fun and I read somewhere that Mark Richie is the guy singing the song!!!

#15 8 years ago

This game is going to be the system 11 equivalent of Congo!!

#16 8 years ago

I'd buy one in Chicagoland.

That's Mark Ritchie singing!!
Some people hate it....doesn't bother me.

Cheapest system 11C easily, and probably the hardest too.
Far better game than it gets credit for - I've just played mine sooooo much I'm ready for something different in my 2 upstairs pin spaces.
I've seen them priced anywhere from $1,200-$2,500(silly).
True price is around $1,400-$1,700...but this game will catch on with the masses someday.
And yes, I have a nice one--so this is certainly all 100% bias.

#19 8 years ago

If I wanted to ask about THAT pin, I would have. But I didn't.

I was asking for a general price check.

But thanks for being such a great detective.

Glad pinside has a 007 working for it. Keep up the good work asshole.

Way to make a name for yourself purposely pissing people off.

#23 8 years ago

Play nice boys. It's only pinball.

#24 8 years ago

That's a cool playing pin. The woman sounds like Elvira in the video. Man, that music does leave something to be desired, but in small doses it would be tolerable, and I may come to enjoy it. I found myself singing the Rollergames theme when I had that.

Scooter.... Blackbeard only asked a simple question, he is well-respected around here and honestly didn't need to be called out like that. Pm' work sir!~ SpOoKy

We each have our own opinions here but again.... Sans for your JPEG. Image, I was only pointing out the fact that he Only asked for a price check. It's a moot point beyond if it's a pin listed here or elsewhere, unless you know both the potential buyer and seller?!? ~SpOoKy

Yeah I know blackbread (john) I'm restoring a playfield for him, and I talk to him almost everyday. So my JPEG, and memes are taken as a light poke, but my real intention is to continue to bump this thread for someone I know `~ Tdiddy

Ok I'm relatively new here but I've been wondering about Pinside pricing because I can never find any tables in the real world with the quality I want at anywhere near what people say they are worth here. Maybe it's a west coast thing, or maybe people are ok with tables in not that great condition? I recently bought a Riverboat Gambler, paid way more than pricing on Pinside says I should have at $3450 but I prefer all my tables to be fully restored so they are stripped bare and completely gone over from scratch and led'd. I know that adds to the cost and it takes some weeks but I'm not into the tinkering side of pinball, I just want the tables to work so I can play them. Likewise I don't like scratches on my cabinets, paint fade, dirty/damaged playfield or any of that stuff, I like them to look close to new. It's still missing a replacement BLACK bet button on it because they couldn't find one but other than that the machine basically looks brand new. The only table I didn't buy with a 100% restoration so far was my Jackbot table, and sure enough it's the only table of mine having problems. So yeah it was cheaper and closer to Pinside pricing, but it was not worth the savings to me because issues drive me nuts, I just want it to work. Your mileage may vary of course..but when I see Riverboat Gambler being thought of as a $1200 table, I have to wonder what quality state you guys are talking about because I couldn't find any in an acceptable state to me at anywhere near that price. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm finding table pricing here on Pinside to not be reflective of the real world, to me anyways, unless you want tables that are in average shape or had a very basic going over and expect to have to tinker with them. Maybe we need quality tiers to quantify what you guys mean when you price stuff? Cuz as a new guy around here, the pricing makes little sense to me.

Restored condition pins vary a lot on price. Fewer in the market - both inventory and buyers. For what you're after, you're totally seeing retail pricing. And that is ok. You were willing to pay it, and happy with what you got. jjst realize that when you sell, you might not quickly get your money back. It'll either take time, or you'll have to come down in price.

Location is another big part of things; as well as the venue. At auction in Anaheim California, this title in typical clean functional but not restored condition has gone for about 1200 plus the auction fees and taxes (23 percent combined). I haven't seen this for sale locally except at auction.

#32 8 years ago

Spooky and diddy: thanks for the support in your own ways. You're both great dudes.

This is an intriguing title. I love the theme and the system 11 simplicity. Also love the color and faux wood deck here. Just old school fun

Spooky: I still have flints!

Thanks for the reply. So when people talk of table pricing on Pinside they never really talk about fully restored tables I guess? Like someone in this thread said $2500 for Riverboat Gambler was a silly price (even though all the tables I had looked at were in the $3k+ range) but I guess what he really means is silly for Pinside where fully restored tables aren't considered, where "shopped" means hours spent on the table and not weeks, presumably no leds, table not cleaned, table will need some repairs, table has fade, etc? If so then that would make much more sense and would fall in line then what I see as well. I'm trying to get a better feel for how pricing works here so I can use it as a guide when I buy tables since I want to get around 13 total (got 4 so far), hence why I'm trying to understand what people mean here when they price stuff and why it's typically so far off from what I see. I guess maybe it's more hobbyists here that expect to have to work on their games and don't need them in prime condition hence fully restored tables are considered silly to buy, or perhaps people buy tables here to flip them and make a profit which would also explain why some pricing is considered silly. That would make the pricing here make perfect sense, and by knowing that I can use the data here as a good baseline which is still very helpful.

Honestly the words "shopped" or even "restored" are worthless without knowing who did it and what their typical work is like.

In the end it comes down to actual condition. Perceived by buyer and seller. Hopefully they come to agreement else no deal.

If you're serious about the title, ask for pictures. If local just make time to visit.
Pay according to condition and availability. Unless it is your Grail pin it is likely some day you'll sell it too, so try not to pay on emotion.

#35 8 years ago

There's a Huo one on Portland CL for $2700

It's been on there for a while

Gotcha. I'm having a local guy Herb Silvers do all of my tables, he's just a few minutes away and seems to be an old school pinball guy that many people know which helped make me more comfortable and his work looks good to me. Sounds like he is too pricey for here but I prefer they get a total going over since they are 20+ year old machines. Anyways at least now I know to take pricing here in stride, definitely very different expectations here but I'll keep that in mind when I browse the price check threads.

Played one at mgc last year, i think it was about 1400. It played very well and looked good.

if any of you pricing specialists can send me a link to a 1000-1200 shopped riverboat gambler, please share. Getting a little tired of these pricing threads where people share unrealistic prices for games based on what they think they are worth rather than what they really go for. No way the pricing gurus would sell their games that cheap if they actually had them...anyways...

Umm really ? Ive seen plenty of them in the past year here in the east? I actually was offered one 2 months ago for 1200 but declined bc its not a pin im interested in. I also didn't bother getting it to sell bc I know they are hard sales above that price .

#42 8 years ago

There is one for sale on here now at 1500 and looks super. It's probably or best offer.

What would one of the rarer diamond plated ones go for?

#43 8 years ago

Only reason a dp would I guess be worth more is bc the play field would be in great shape more than likely. Im guessing if you had 2 in the exact same condition beside each other they wld probably sell for around the same . Someone may pay a few hundred more just bc the dp is much rarer.?

#44 8 years ago

I was thinking at least a few hundred more. Diamond plate is rare w RBG
