(no mods, pretty nice cabinet, playfield in good shape)
Thanks!

I think this dude paid less than $3k, ask him what he paid, I may be wrong
Hey Mk,
Sounds like the STTNG i picked up, Pinballwizard79 is right. I searched for 8 months in the southeast for a nice one but ended up driving to St. Louis to get one from Chuck at cppinball.com.
He said he'd been offered $2,500 for it by several people who just knew it was only a $2,500 pin.
He wanted $2,900 and that's what i paid and haven't regretted it since. great seller, great machine and the whole family loves STTNG.
good luck on your hunt!

Hey...keep your hands off any reasonably priced STTNG's in the Atlanta area. I've got dibs! LOL
J/K Good luck in your search. I'm pretty sure I won't be getting another STTNG until the bubble bursts.
Ray
There's a nice one on ebay that's up to $4400 already with some mods. Other than that, I have no idea, pricing is escalating so rapidly that I can't keep up.
Just bought one for 3K. Like everything else the price has kinda spiked recently. A lot of people will say under 3... But be prepared to wait if that's the price you're looking for. Demand is always high for this game.
I have been watching these for a little bit. The lowest I have seen was $2,800 and the highest $3,700. The high one has NOT sold and has been reduced to $3,300. There were also two others that sold - list price was $3,500 on each.
So I'd say if you find one at or under $3,000 then you are doing pretty well.
I just noticed you are in ATL. The $3,300 one is in Dawsonville. I hope you aren't asking because it is yours and you are wondering why it hasn't sold. The seller really could write more in his ad. It has been on CL for awhile (at least 2 wks I think). It started at $3,700 and was the most expensive STTNG money could buy in our area. Now it is more reasonable... if it went below $3k I bet he would sell it in a day.
Nothing wrong with asking $3,300 though... just not something that makes every pinball person in ATL jump in their trucks and drive to his house I guess.
I love being Canadian, but sometimes it would be nice to live on the east cost of the US, just for the pinball prices

No, just being a paranoid buyer.
Thanks everyone for the input!
This is indeed the one for sale in Atlanta.
Thanks again for the fantastic response, and advice.

There is one for $3,700 BIN on eBay in Dahlonega. It may be the same one as Dawsonville... They are not that far apart. The eBay one seems to have a video.
My guess is that $3k would buy the Dawsonville one. It has been for sale for a bit.
I have one now.. I would do 3800 on. Its got a perfect glossy playfield. LED's, Cliffy's, Ramp Protectors, Laser Target Cannons. Near perfect cabinet (no scuffs or dings). The only flaw is the lockdown bar has a couple of dings. Other than that the game is perfect.
I am looking as well to trade for a TZ. If you have one we can do machine + cash
I've been looking for awhile, the asking prices seem to hover around $3500 to 3900, with a few outliers from $4k to 4.2k.
I have not been offered one for <$3.5k. There is one locally for sale for ~$4k.

A good, working STTNG is at least a $3,000 pin nowadays. I would never let mine go for that though. I was offered an AC/DC Pro for mine and I still said no. They just don't make them like they used to and STTNG is the best pin ever made IMHO.
Still the best bang for the buck pin out there IMO. Its one of only maybe a couple top 20 pins that can still be found for under 3.5k. If you can find one for under 3, buy it and don't even give it a second thought.
Quoted from mkgort:Thanks again everyone. I should be picking it up Saturday []
Woohoo! I cannot wait!

Did you get the one on Craigslist? How is it?
I bought a Ms. Pac Man yesterday.
I paid 4500 for mine a year ago, and will probably be selling it soon. It has every mod imaginable, great condition all the way around, and the mods, so I felt it was worth it. So, ultimately, I'd say prices are slightly under 3k to mid fours for excellent condition, possibly even higher for superb condition.
Quoted from Stack15:Did you get the one on Craigslist? How is it?
Leaving in an hour to pick it up
I think it is a good price if the machine is in the shape it appears to be.
I cannot remember the etiquette on pricing. Is it acceptable to list what I paid for it?
Thanks again,
MK

there is no particular etiquette. Sometimes a buy or sell may have a mutually agree anonymity, however.
Quoted from mkgort:I cannot remember the etiquette on pricing. Is it acceptable to list what I paid for it?
It's up to you, but if you get it for a great deal, people will accuse you of ripping the seller off. If you pay too much, people will tell you you didn't get a good deal. If you go to sell it in the future, people will point back at what you paid and say that you should only get that for it, no matter how much it changes in price.
So... I wouldn't. But if you know that you won't be selling it for a long, long, long time and want to share that you got a great deal, go for it
My JP which is never leaving I got for a great price five years ago now, and I'm still not totally comfortable posting what I paid for it online.
Quoted from mkgort:I cannot remember the etiquette on pricing. Is it acceptable to list what I paid for it?
I probably wouldn't say what I paid until months later -- unless it was an auction. I will just assume you paid between $3,000 to $3,300. I believe someone offered him $2,800 a few weeks ago.
I had considered making a trip up there with some money... but I'm getting low on space and kind of what one of those "steals" or a NIB machine. I'm not really a X-Men fan. I have been at this for around 2 years and the only NIB that I was all fired up about was BDK. I so almost bought one on amazon.com, but didn't.
I was "conditionally" offered $10 million for mine , and I "conditionally " turned that offer down .
Quoted from kwiKimart:In Cali, it would be a $3-4k pin.
In not perfect condition either, at the lower end.
Robert
Quoted from Frax:Who is offering an AC/DC pro for one? I want to talk to that guy....
Who wants to trade a NIB Xmen pro?
AkumaZeto (Ben) did.
I have no problem saying what I paid for mine. Not in the market to sell it so I don't care. I got it for $1,100 a couple of years ago.
Quoted from btrip:I came across in my search really made me question the people in this hobby and humanity in general.
It's not really a hobby anymore, when refurb'd/remade parts became available and people found that you could make a lot of money flipping games (by doing some minor fixing instead of parting out)...especially by selling on eBay to people that don't know what good condition is.
Then the next step is to try to charge as much as you can anywhere, knowing that eventually someone will probably buy it.
Nope not so much a hobby, where people help each other, any more.
Robert
You must be reading different threads than I do. Seems like lots of helpful people around and even some good deals on various sites if you're open to something besides the "A" titles.
Sure, I'd love to have STTNG, Shadow, or S-M back. But I know the market for them now is beyond what I'm willing to pay. I'm hopeful that someday I'll be in the right place at the right time and the market will be more in line with my wallet.
Yes, I picked it up Sat. It's in good shape overall, except very dirty. Slight wear on the NZ, other than that the playfield is great. Two resistors out on the trough and a zip tie used to fix the drop target. Both easy fixes and now just needs new rubbers. I think I got a good deal that was mutually beneficial.
$2950
Thanks again,everyone,for the advice!

no way i would have done that across the board unless it was a 4k machine.
