Hello I am looking at a 1974 Williams Star pool for sale. Was wondering what a fair price is? I haven't gone to check the game out yet but was told other then the game having several broken rubbers it is otherwise working. I know Star Pool isn't a highly desired title and most consider it boring. That being said, my wife and I played one at White rose a couple years ago and enjoyed it. We are looking at diving into our first EM machine and this one came up. The one at white rose a few years ago was listed for $400 but has pretty rough playfield and artwork from what I remember. This one appears to be in pretty decent shape. You can see several broken rubbers laying on the playfield in the one picture. Back glass and playfield look pretty decent. Would you think this is worth $400.

I bought one in similar condition a few years ago for $200 I think. Once I got it running it was a good player, but oh so easy to max out the bonus on every ball and beat it. Sold it shortly thereafter.

I think you are in the right neighborhood on value. I think for that price it’s worth it to at least go see it and fine tune your price (lower) if necessary.

Star Pool was my first pinball machine. When I bought it, I didn’t even know enough about pinball machines to know what I did and didn’t like. I think I also paid around $400 and played the heck out of it. Machines from that era are great introductions to the EM hobby since they are plentiful and do not require a big up front investment. If you enjoyed the game, then I say go for it.

Fun game and the price is right according to what I can see in the pictures.

Actually the playfield is very beautiful on these games when cleaned and lit up, especially the big spinner.

I used to play this one at a local bowling alley as a kid and was not happy when they removed it to put in a new 1976 Gottlieb Buccaneer.

Quoted from EM-PINMAN:

I've got a buddy trying to get somebody to remove his Buccaneer as we speak.

$400 or less is fair for that machine. PF looks really good. It’s a good competition game. The spinner in the middle gets annoying.

Hi,I think 4 is decent price.em,s are getting harder to find with decent pf.it will clean up fine.also I can see a need for a few touch ups ( I use permanent markers). On my machines.works excellent.good luck.

$400 sounds reasonable, but I'd start at $250 and wouldn't go higher than $400.

Photos are dark, but it appears to have a good playield and backglass. The add shows a good cabinet and coin door. $400 is a good price. You don't very many em games projects that are nice all around for $400 on Pinside.. Clean it up, put some new rubber on it. play it for a few years and sell it for $500.
