I remember freaking out when I paid $1400 for mine. I felt like I way overpaid. Of course, that was 7 years ago.

It has a wobbly head (kits are hard to find) and the cabinet looked great. Maybe, he paid a bit more than someone else because he was really trying hard to find one, but I see his being in the $3K range.
I sold mine to a friend for $2,200 and it took him about 30 seconds to make that decision. It played very well, but it did have credit dot, cabinet fade, other dings that came from being moved several times, and few other cosmetic things that come with age. I know I could have gotten a few hundred more, but selling to a friend means I still get to play it.
