A while back I finished up a restoration project of a trashed Dolly Parton machine. Lots of work repairing and re-painting the cabinet and boards, and a new CPR playfield that was swapped, with tons of new playfield parts along the way. For the most part, everything is new or fully cleaned/made like-new except the backglass (sealed but some small damage spots) and the original boards (which have been repaired/cleaned and are working great). A quick list of some of the new items:

New MPU (@barakandl)
New rectifier board
New Displays (wolffpac)
New warm white Comet LED bulbs throughout (and new sockets)
New speaker
New power cord (14') and Line filter/power switch
New shooter bushing/plate/spring/tip
New flipper switches (molexed) and buttons
New legs/upgraded brackets/feet/metal cab protectors
All new paint (with prototype Dolly art and gold speckling to match original)
New siderails
Fully restored coin door with new sticker
All wire harnesses washed and almost all connectors re-pinned (the rest to follow soon)
All switches repaired/cleaned/ re-diode'd and re-capped
New Playfield & Plastics
New Titan rubbers throughout
New standup Targets
New drop targets
New Bumper caps
New rebound rubber
Repainted apron with new decals
Rebuilt flipper mechs with new flipper bats
Rebuilt pop bumper mechs (top and bottom)
Etc
Etc

I can add more images later, I will be taking more in the next few days. Below are a few I grabbed today and some progress shots.

In general, what do you think is a fair market price? I am aware there is probably a price cap on any Dolly machine, even a super clean and restored one, but I'm trying to make some decisions about the collection and whether she stays or goes. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance! Holler with any questions.

I don’t really remember ever seeing a fully restored Dolly for sale. Looks like you did fantastic work..congrats she’s a beaut. Whatever the cap for a Dolly is, like you mentioned, I’m sure this will be up against it. $3000-$3500?

#3 2 years ago

Comparing it to other similarly restored Ballys recently sold I’d say $5500 give or take. Maybe more to the right Dolly fan outside the pinball community.

Too low.

$ 44DD

Seriously, OP did a great job with the resto.

#8 2 years ago

It’s really
Gorgeous.

I’d suggest $5k.

#9 2 years ago

I’d go along with $4000-4500 for the right buyer.

The banning auction one sold for a hammer price of 4500 (about 1k more after fees and taxes) and I’m assuming not restored like this one. But you might have to run an ad in the New York Times to get that high.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. Appreciate it!

Awesome looking game.

#12 2 years ago

My man I would say 4,500-5k for that game with that cab
I have those stencils and pumped to see a finished product
That work isn’t cheap sir congrats I would keep her

The splatter in the white is spot on. Few people attempt that in an early Bally and pull it off that nice. That title 10 years ago in nice OE condition was a $750 game. I would ask $5-5.5K. It only takes one buyer to pull the trigger. With the garbage I see being sold on eBay, that's 6K there if you want the hassle.

I agree with this statement

Oh nice, yeah the prototype art is the way to go. It's sort of sad they didn't at least change up the design a bit when they removed the figure, just to make it less obvious. But hey. Good luck with yours! Let me know if you need any images or anything else I might be able to help with.

And thanks again all for your kind words. I'm working on a Mr & Mrs Pac-Man currently, and getting some positive feedback on Dolly is helping keep me motivated
