How bad is the playfield?

It’s a shitty game and in bad shape but the cat fancy crowd has pushed this one up in price consistently.

No it's kind of a turd, it's price is all about novelty and the unique art package.

Restored id guess this is a 4500-5000ish range. 3500 is about themax id pay. Otherwise youd be upside down after a pf swap, new ramps and decals.

One with an eh playfield and cabinet just was listed for 6200 on fb a few days ago and apparently sold in 24 hours. I really couldn't believe it. That being said, yours has definitely seen better days. I think you're leaving money on the table if you don't buy a playfield and then pay someone to do a swap. (or at least install the cabinet decals) Whoever you sell it to will be factoring in the price of a pf swap in their price, and then the gamble of making money on a game with a niche theme/following. But if it's burning a hole in your pocket, sell it for $3500 and be happy about it.

Interesting to me that nobody mentions anything about the condition of the electronics and mechanics, the only talk is cosmetic stuff. The difference in a beat game that needs a lot of attention in those areas can swing that price a bit.

I dropped $3900 on this one at the York show and spent $100 more getting it 100% including LEDs and rubbers. Traded mine for a really nice Whirlwind a few months later. Its a neat game, but it is the theme carrying this one, not gameplay. I'd say it was about equivalent to Police Force in fun, which can be had for much less. You are going to have a really hard time getting your money back out of that one if you start putting in new playfields and side art. If you are thinking to buy it, fix it up, and sell it for profit, I'd want to be into that one at $2500-$2800, which is probably less than they'd take. If you want to buy it, play the crap out of it, fix it up, then hold onto it for a few years before trading it without losing your shirt I'd go up to $3500 on it. Good luck!

Edit to ad: That varitarget, the fish bone target looks super complicated but is super easy to fix with just plain rubbers and some cleaning solution. Note you have to remove the ramp and plastics to get to it though. New rubbers can really speed this one up.

Sad Cats

Saw a nice one sell at Pinfest for over 6k last year not much better. Fun game for theme as mentioned. If you’re not a cat lover, you likely won’t enjoy it much. I enjoyed it and like cats but got old quickly. Easy game for noobs. Even Python said it was a “shit game” lol. If it’s a keeper, new playfield (plastics and ramps) makes sense and I’ve done three and can say they’re easy swaps. If you’re selling to flip, not worth the effort.

This is interesting to me since Python's personal bad cats game has surfaced with his personalized card on it talking about how it was created from his life and memories, good and bad... Lot of bad cats hate on this thread lol

Python said it himself on the TOP podcast.

Not saying he didn't, I'm just saying that when he built the game he obvious had a real connection to it. In the badcats thread you can see a picture of that original card he had on his game and it's personal, and sad, to me at least.

Python said a lot of shit in that topcast and most of it was either drunken lunacy or demands that everybody read The Fountainhead.

For what it's worth, the guy I traded my Bad Cats for a Whirlwind with immediately traded the Bad Cats for something else, and that Bad Cats was further fixed up and went for close to $6,000 and is this one.

I enjoy the quirkiness of bad cats but its not a good game, it baffles me that people are paying the kind of money they are for this game. 4k for a roached bad cats? What a time to be alive

Now seems like a good time to mention I'm also in the market for a PF to send to Kruzman. Being that this is such a shit game and all that, it shouldn't be hard to find one lol

That green display is cringe worthy !

The new owner can swap that in a heartbeat if they ask for a swap in the Elvira club methinks

Elvira has the side by side split displays. Not compatible with Bad cats. Would need a Williams 11b/c that had the double display on top of each other

It's easy to get excited when the facebook market messages start rolling in, but a couple days later reality sets in.
