I have a lead on a High Roller Casino. Let me start by saying that I like the art and I like casino theme. BUT I have never played it. What is a good price for this machine? Reviews seem pretty good. Are the casino games on the payfield fun? Thoughts....????

Boston pinball says average price $1800. Never played it

Well there was one at a show in the UK and the game doesn't seem to have many fans. Having said that I thought it was interesting and would like to own one.

I had one lined up over here but the seller couldn't fix it. Registering ball locks seems to be problematic as I have heard of that problem before. I was offered one for £500UKP and I just saw one sell on UK ebay for £750UKP. I think any modern game that sells that cheap has to be worth a look.

Average prices this year for High Roller Casino are down according to pinpedia to an average price of $1450, Boston pinball says 1800, Pinside says average of 1300 so the average of all those is about $1500.

As far as gameplay I really had fun playing this pin. It sure does not look very pretty but I like the layout. Pretty open playfield a few fun toys. The ball is stopped a decent amount of time so not so much a flow game but as I said I had fun playing it. All in all pretty fun to play so if you can get it at a decent price its worth looking into. Have you ever played it before?

Hey, I have an idea...let's get in a pricing argument for old times sake!!! (j/k)

Thanks for doing the next few steps for me, TDA. I never got back to it!!! Adios, amigos...

I've heard from a few people that it's better than Jackbot, even though this pin doesn't have Pinbot and the Bride.

It looks decent and priced at $1300. Everything works, needs cleaned. For some reason I love the casino theme, but I have not played it so as a blind buy. I really wanted a Shadow next but can't find a cheap one.

Is it local Jgel? It would be nice if you could give it a few plays before handing over the cash. If you like the Casino theme this may be the right one for you and $1300 is a decent price. I'd say go take a look and give it a few plays if you like it hand over the cash and take that bad boy home.

Yea I think I might. I love casino games and the roulette wheel and slot machine seems really cool. It is local so I will get a chance to try it. I just know it is so hard to get a good feel of a machine on a few plays. But the price seems fair and if I shop it I know I won't lose money on it.

BUY BUY BUY BUY. I like the game a lot, don't even care about the theme, it is just a great game, and a steal for less than 1.5K

$1300 is pretty good, but don't be surprised if it's tough to move back out again at that price. I only see this title selling quickly in the sub-$1200 range (Midwest). Mid-$1000's range feels like a good deal for a newer Stern but no one seems to be buying High Roller at those prices so...

I'm glad to see it get some love in this thread. I still enjoy playing it; it's also my wife's favorite game for the most part (I really need to fix a pop bumper for her). Just be sure you get the latest ROMs which are 3.00 IIRC. Or play older ones then upgrade and be amazed what rewriting an operating system gets you.

OK I am picking this up TONIGHT. Pin #2 secured. Will post pics when it is in the house.

#14 12 years ago

Congrats. It looks like a fun pin at a good price. On my wishlist...

#15 12 years ago

Congratulations, Jgel! I've never played this game, but I'd like to.

WELL PLAYED Jgel!! Congrats. Let us know how you like it. Really sounds like you got a great deal on it.

Hope you enjoy it more than I did!
It has no flow, very much a stop and go pin, with way too much "stop". Not very challenging, not very deep, and all around an example of all the things people don't like about Stern machines of that era... Even my father was able to consistently get the multiballs, and he's got practically no pinball experience.

I would say it's one of the least compelling pins that I've played.

I've played it a few times, pretty fun but there are always several of them at every pin auction I go to....

I had a HUO HRC, and found it very repetItive and easy! Also, the voice got really annoying! I think it's supposed to be George W Bush!!! I think I remember him refering to "W" alot! Also,

Is there a manual that I can download or is that not allowed? Just got home and turned it on. Where is the volume knob?

Isn't the volume control (+ & -) on the backside of the coindoor?

I did not see the manual available on Sterns website not sure where else you could look. If you have to buy it they have it here for $27.

It's an okay game, a bit on the easy side. The audio reminds me of World Poker Tour and Playboy.

#24 12 years ago

Thanks Dude, got the volume working I can't believe I can find the manual online. I would pay to download it, but paying for shipping for a manual seems so 1980's but I guess this is an older hobby.

Well, no, it's supposed to be the "cowboy" in the backglass. The "W" line is because I assumed a cowboy would hold W in pretty high esteem, so I thought it would be funny to say "This one's for dub-ya" as he does "This one's for mama" and whatever else he spins for.

To each their own, but the biggest super jackpot quote is worth in IMNSHO.

A serious question to all those who complain about it not being deep... So you all got to super surprise I assume? That was too easy?
