Hi,

Considering purchase of a somewhat local TAF.

The seller claims it's in excellent condition - don't they all . What is an appropriate price assuming the machine is in average condition, and when inspecting the machine to what areas should I pay particular attention? TIA.

Most TAF's seem to have "mansion wear". The artwork on the inserts tend to get worn away. Also look for magnet burn on the playfield.

I hear even an average condition machine fetches $4000+ these days.

I sold a true blue excellent condition for just under 5. So I would put routed at 35-8 and good average at 4's. this is in the NW however where we pay 2-3 hundred more.

Also look for PF wear on the right ball drop/inlane & scoop wear at the chair kickout; could be a little at the Swamp kickout too.

I would say average price would be $3,800 to $4,200. Like others said typical wear is on the mansion overlay. Also chair kicks really need a cliffy. Mine looked bad but one $30 cliffy and it looks great. Lift the playfield and visually inspect the subways. If those are clean then the seller most likely took really good care of it.

I believe the thing motor is the single most expensive part in the game. So be sure to test that. It's my favorite game.

This is the one on CL right? Pembroke? Whoever owns it is getting another pin and seems up and up on pricing based on what I read on the ad.

Ya, that's the one was trying not to be too specific .
