Seawitch in decent shape went for $2800 on eBay last week over on the east coast. Star Gazers seem cheaper to build than to buy nowadays. Quicksilvers...they just don't come up. I passed on buying just a complete playfield a few years ago for like $900ish and regret it, another pinsider did get it though and I believe was able to get a working game out of it.

Don't leave out Dragonfist from this rare Stern discussion now.

#188 3 years ago
Quoted from pinlawyer:

I've heard about "alternate ROMs" for Dragonfist, Iron Maiden, NB. Would love to find where to get them.

Different from the roms on IPDB for Dragonfist?

Quoted from brenna98:

picked up a few project sterns this past weekend. Not looking to sell anything at this point. Just thought I would share pics.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

If there were any extra just Stern aprons out there I still need one for my Star Gazer project unless you are making those in the near future!

#383 3 years ago
Quoted from brenna98:

I would love to make Stern aprons. Looks like mitch needs a correct one for a quicksilver. Looks like he's got a meteor in there.
Trouble is, there are decals available for these. So, people usually paint/apply and call it good. This has kept my requests for repros low.
I think I have enough hands raised to justify metal tooling. I'll talk to merfeldma again to see if this can happen.

I have your Fathom and centaur and would love to continue to support your efforts.

#407 3 years ago
Quoted from smileymatthew:

So just as tough of the rest of those. Any idea on Split Second?

I love split second. I think it is fun to shoot and hard to earn the multiball.

#419 3 years ago
Quoted from statictrance:

Of all the times I've screwed around with PAPA's Split Second I never figured out the multi ball. New goal for the PPO in two weeks.

I probably played 75-100 games on it during Pinburgh this year. I started the multiball twice. One time the two ball and another time the 3 ball.

1 week later
#501 2 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Well, the ball is 1 1/16" diameter. Wire ball guides are elevated 1/2". I think there is room to make a 1/2"-5/8" high ramp and not cause conflict with the glass. The ramp would need to be long enough to make a gradual climb and not shoot the ball into the glass.
My plate is full until I return from Ft. Worth on Nov. 5th. When I get back I can carve one up from a piece of wood and try it out. If it works, one could be made of a block of dark blue acrylic and located with a couple of screws and removed so it would not be permanent. There are lots of possibilities here.
Here is the reply I got from a Stern tech support guy.
" Parts are available for all new games unless the part is only used on a limited edition game. As far as I know this game has not been announced."

Interesting to not the shot back into the shooter lane looks like it will just fall back out on The Beatles due to the one way gat that is there.

A bit of troubleshooting help...

I bought brand new flipper mechs for my Dragonfist from Pinball Life. I installed the right side last night. I moved the wires over 1 by 1 from the old mech to the new mech. I realized quickly that the flipper was getting weaker. Lifted the playfield and found the coil was hot. Shut game off, let it cool a few minutes. Double checked the EOS switches and all my soldering connections, seemed okay. Tried playing again, this time each time I flipped the right side the lights in the game flickered and after about 4-5 flips the game just shut off completely. Now it won't do anything. No LED comes on at all with the MPU, nothing happens at all on the game at the moment.

Any ideas what just happened?

#582 2 years ago

So it was the furthest fuse to the right on the rectifier board, it tested okay but swapping it out made the game come back to life. My right flipper is still causing the lights to flicker, I only gave it 2 flips this time before shutting it off. I double checked my wiring from the original and its definitely correct. I tried swapping the EOS wires and no change. I replaced the diodes on the coil itself (the coil is brand new from Pinball Life), any other ideas?

#585 2 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Good question. I got a defective coil from PBR one time. Maybe the coil is defective.

I'll give it a shot after school and see what happens.

#590 2 years ago
Quoted from fissionch1ps:

Solid advice. It could be stuck in high voltage and is just toasting everything.

Yeah I don't set the EOS until the flipper is installed, but good to double check it.

#704 2 years ago

Just replaced my rectifier board in Dragonfist last night too haha.

#706 2 years ago

Haha I've got the shot down pretty well on mine, gets a nice 40-50 spins most shots. I mean I certainly don't hit it every time, but definitely every game, the hard part is getting that spinner value raised to really make it worth it.

#712 2 years ago
Quoted from statictrance:

The guy that makes them is a friend of mine and his direct website is below. it was funny - I posted here for a solution, someone said "hey go here" and as soon as I saw the site I had a real "hey, I know that guy" moment.
Anyway... there are a number of boards to help alleviate the old and failing stern bulb holders. He mentioned he may do Split Second if the demand is there (and since I have one he can do the measurements and prototyping on). Not sure it makes sense since they are just individual sockets and can easily be replaced.
https://pinballreplacementparts.com/collections/all?page=3

I'm getting a split second and would buy one.

I also need one for dragonfist to be made, it is a straight piece should be pretty easy but man my bulbs/sockets are annoying me on that part.

I'm going to be needing some boards in near future.
The Weebly products look interesting and pricing is more friendly. And I know barakandi is a pinsider.
Alltek boards have the lifetime guarantee. Does that lifetime guarantee make the Alltek products worth the extra money?
What kind of warranty do the Weebly products have?

Don't know about guarantee but weebly has been incredibly helpful with support via PM or email any time I have used his products. Faster response than any other pinball product or company I have dealt with.

Anyone out there have a lockdown bar they can sell that will fit a Seawitch?

#2055 2 years ago
Quoted from Gott_Lieb:

Had no stainless spares laying around, so I had a roached DE bar that I had stripped and powdercoated dark blue along with the legs. I love the look of it, and I'm not big on powdercoating matching trim work. I would never do the coin door or siderails. If you want a pic, LMK.

Thanks man, I would love to see a picture. I checked your website yesterday looking for the part haha. Feel free to PM or email [email protected]gmail.com

I had a Nvram.weebly board in my dragonfist with similar behavior, wouldn't get past the second flash. Swapped in altek board and it was back up and running. I haven't bothered to take a look at the nvram board yet.

I do have weird behavior from my upper right drop target bank. If I knock down say just the lowest drop target, but don't clear that bank and then I drain. On the next ball even though the targets all reset if I hit just the top two the bank will act as if though it has been cleared and reset and award me the bonus X for that bank if it is lit. It could be any of the drops in that bank as well not specific to the lowest one, and it doesn't seem to do it all the time either. I have tried different versions of the code, different boards, my switches are well adjusted and I've replace the diodes on all of those switches as well...

I'm guessing I'm just left with connectors at this point but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience by chance.

#2226 2 years ago
Quoted from slochar:

Hmm that might be a software bug I've noticed something similar before on DF. It's probably not clearing the flags correctly. Does it ever happen in a multiplayer game and if so does it stay on the same *player*?

Good question. I’ll check it. I think it traveled from player to player but typically I play it alone so unsure.

#2265 2 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

I stand corrected. So, if I have this right, you can take a Stern Flight 2000 wide body lock bar and latch it down to a DE wide body. It will be a little long on the ends but can be attached?
But to try and latch a DE wide body bar to a Flight 2000 can not work because the DE wide body is narrower?
So, if you wish to have a new play field glass custom cut for your Stern wide body you cannot use the same play field glass on the DE wide body; The DE will also have to have a glass custom cut to yet another different size.
I assumed that Stern and DE wide body cabinets were the same size. Talk about mistaken assumptions.
I stand corrected. Thanks.

Odd note but I tried switching lockdown bars between my seawitch and my dragonfist and they don't work. Dragon fist works okay on seawitch, but the seawitch one is too narrow for dragonfist by just a hair...it is really weird.

Yup. Pinball Life has the whole mech. Great value compared to buying a rebuild kit really. They will put whatever strength coil you want in them. Was a no brained for me as my whole mechs were swapped in from a bally.

Yep I've done that on my last few games, either Bally's or Stern's with the full pinball life mechs, for the price it makes complete sense to me.

Quoted from getadam:

Hey Dragonfist fans. I found something interesting today. I was studying the original Dragonfist flyer (yeah, I'm a total pinball geek) and discovered something interesting. In the flyer version of the game, the spinner awarded 1,000 points per lit multiplier, not just 200 like in the production version of the game.
You'll see below a zoomed in version of the flyer playfield and right above the left flipper it says "SPINNER SCORES 1000". The production version says 200.
I think this would have made for an even more exciting game if they left it like this flyer version. I'd be inclined to have the code changed but then it wouldn't match my production playfield.[quoted image]

Hey fellow classic Stern Electronics lovers! I'm not working as much and my location is shut down so in my spare time I've been trying to find some other ways to occupy myself and bring in a little income if I can. I came up with the idea to design some lapel pins based off of my favorite stern electronics machines and figured that a few of you would probably also like a set. I ended up just doing a run of 100 pins, and I'm keeping 1 set for myself so there are 99 available. I will be shipping all orders the week of May 4th so if you want some go ahead and use the pinside shop that I set up. If you don't no big deal, but they probably make a great gift for your fellow pinheads

Hope you like them, have a good one. -Tommy

Not sure if this has been shared yet but Pinball Life is now making classic stern side rails.

I just ordered a set to use on my star gazer build. Let everyone know how they fit.

#3337 1 year ago

Here is a tip. Forget the nails. Get some #4 1/2" long stainless sheet metal screws. They look nice. It is long shot that you would ever need to remove the rail, but if you ever need to remove the rail you will be glad you used screws instead of nails.
I got the idea from HEP.

So I finally got the guts to hook up the Star Gazer I have been building and we have..... some success.... and some failures.

Game powers on, doesn't catch fire or blow fuses even. Going into tests all lights, displays, and coils seem to work fine. Then I start a game and I quickly realize we have all sorts of switch issues so time for some trouble shooting.

If anyone else out there has done the whole build your game using Shawn's wire harness, or just has some really good detailed pictures of how all of your switches are wired up on Star Gazer I would really appreciate some help, please and thank you! -Tommy
Star Gazer 1 (resized).jpgStar Gazer 2 (resized).jpgStar Gazer 3 (resized).jpg

#3894 1 year ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

You are going to have to divide and conquer. I am still in the process in my build. The lights wired and the switches are wired. I have not done the coils yet. I found Shawn's instructions easy to follow; Maybe I can help. Maybe I can't.
The switches are all governed by the white wires with the red, blue, black, green stripes, etc. You need to isolate if the reluctant switches are on the white/red wire line or the white/blue line, etc.
What kind of problems are you having?

Game boots. If I press start button game starts, but immediately a credit is added (so coin switch is registering), trough kicks ball to shooter lane and points just start scrolling up.

If I go into test mode all lights work, displays work as they should, and coils fire as they should. If I press the button to go over to lowest switch registering, 10 is registering...but when I check the switch physically it looks correct according to schematic and Shawn's instructions and is in fact not touching. If I press switches below 10 like the start button or the tilt bob they register. Also when I lift the playfield to inspect it my spinners register correctly as switches 4/5/9. I will need to investigate closer to see if all of the switches under 10 register or not. It was around 1 AM when I finally got the whole thing together and trouble shot until about 2AM before calling it quits.

I did convert a Stern Pinball for this project, but I completely rewired the coin door. I suspected that was what I messed up, but then I tried another Stern coin door, this one from a Big Game, and had the same issues. At that point I called it a night.

pasted_image (resized).png
#3899 1 year ago
Quoted from Whridlsoncestood:

Check every switch in that row and column as switch 10. Check all the diodes on the switches as well. Make sure nothing is bent or touching. Sounds like a possible switch matrix short. See if you can find another switch in game that does not register perhaps? If we have two malfunctioning switches we know if we can narrow it down to two other switches being the culprit.

If I start a game several are registering incorrectly but I can’t tell what they are registering as. In test I can’t test anything above switch 10 because of how stern diagnostics work. I’ll test hitting the playfield but I do suspect a short somewhere sadly.

#3902 1 year ago
Quoted from Whridlsoncestood:

If you disconnect switch 10 it’s still registering correct? Are the switches provided with the wiring harness or did you have to supply and install them yourself?

I did connect 10 just now and yes still registering. I provided the switches. Bought all new ones from pbl I believe

#3903 1 year ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

I strongly suggest you remove the BRN/W wire at A4-J2-2 and disable the entire string. And then see what happens. If you are still getting erratic scoring then your problem is not on this BRN/W string. If all of your problems go away, then you will have narrowed it down to the BRN/W string of switches.
It very well could be a short. When I installed the 555 lamp board in may Catacomb I wound up with all kinds of problems with the lights in the Bonus/Toast section. I was getting all kinds of erratic lighting. It took awhile to find the problem. Buried under a cluster of play field wiring I had managed to pinch a wire underneath a lamp socket base. It took forever to find it. Once I freed that wire all my problems disappeared.
If I had done what I am suggesting you try, I would have been able to isolate the problem much sooner. All you have to do is remove a .100 connector pin.
[quoted image]

Thanks I’ll give it a shot

Okay tried it. Now game says 18 is stuck. All coin door switches and tilt switch below that register correctly except the start button. When I press that button it scrolls through switches 2-3-6. Left spinner registers as 2. Center spinner as 17. Right spinner as 2. Nothing else registers.

Quoted from Whridlsoncestood:

Exactly my thoughts. Shorted/reversed diode and the whole matrix is off wack. Were the diodes put on the switches by you or from PBL? Could have the wrong wire on the wrong lugs possibly.

Diodes on stand ups from factory. All other wiring me. I’ll be pulling the playfield and going back through it all. ...so close

#3911 1 year ago

Also don’t know if this helps or not but just realized on boot up 09 is displayed on player one display. The rest say 00. I’m using a Nvram.weebly board set on the whole machine, née harness from Shawn. Also I don’t see the coin door switches on the matrix. I’m wondering if I have something on there missing a diode or something.

09 is a version of Oliver Okaegi files.
Adjusted rules and Freeplay.
Once you play a game it does not show anymore until reboot.

So I’ll work on Star Gazer more this week, but oddly discovered this weird bit of info about my Dragonfist the other night and forgot to share it.

So here is my Dragonfist cabinet to the human eye. 908F11A0-8C3C-4F66-8E1A-060C3F54F447 (resized).jpeg7F570238-ACEB-47EF-AD75-492B1B1FA247 (resized).jpeg

And here is my Dragonfist cabinet when my new Wyze security camera looks at the cabinet under night vision mode.E965C8BB-37FF-47FF-B79A-7FAFFAF06A61 (resized).png33DF71C9-A6BB-4E8D-A240-1F66A5B0B759 (resized).png5B137FDF-FD24-4F60-9858-BFF8ABD54117 (resized).pngDBD0A43E-D447-444A-9B32-73E284AA393C (resized).png

So holy shit kinda made me jump when I just turned on the camera to check on the dogs late from work the other night. So weird that I can’t see it at all under normal lighting conditions. Obviously at some point it was a Catacomb cabinet, anyone able to explain the science behind why the night vision can see it?

#3918 1 year ago

Yeah made me jump a little as I was moving the camera side ways following the dog haha

#3923 1 year ago
Quoted from Quench:

It must be something with the infrared LEDs on the camera. Can you see the Catacomb image when looking directly at the cabinet (not looking at the camera image) when the camera's pointing at it?

Can’t see it at all. Owned the game for a few years and had no clue.

Quoted from Pingball:

That's wild!
The head of my Dragonfist appears to have started as a Catacomb as well. Only discovered through sanding, would have considered leaving had I discovered what you did. Base cabinet didn't have the green underneath.[quoted image][quoted image]

I checked it on the head and the head looks normal.

Screw that. Take the easy road, man. Order these Pinball Life pops in black with the AE-26-1200 coil, add a diode that will not be there and get it put together. $50.00 bucks a pop and you are done. Just don't forget to add the diode. If you don't like the black color then paint them off-white.
I love these pop assemblies with the switches as part of the assembly. Install with molex connectors and you can remove them from the play field and make accurate adjustments to the switch and spoon out in the open.
But I think you can buy all of the other parts on Pinball Life except for the coil mounting plate. You will have to make that.

OMFG!!!! You just saved me! I put together my star gazer a few months ago and the everything worked as far as lighting, coils, and displays, but I had some freaking switch issue and it was driving me crazy. I definitely didn't add diodes to my pops and now everything makes sense. I want to punch my screen and scream right now!

Quoted from cottonm4:

I remember you coming on and talking about something electrical you were having problems with. Glad to be of service.

Yep, just crazy switch matrix that I though was something to do with my coin door wiring since I was using a MPU100 door and assumed I made some mistakes when redoing the wiring there, but nope, read your post and instantly realized what it must be, or at least I sure hope it is. I've got he playfield sitting in my spare room right now so I'll check it out after practice today and if that seems to be the issue get it knocked out and move the cabinet in from my garage and see whats going on.

#4406 9 months ago

And sadly my pops already had diodes, back to the drawing board

#4408 9 months ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

What is your Star Gazer doing? Or not doing?

Switch matrix issue. I'm sure I just have a diode or something backwards or shorted. I'll be going through and taking an extra close look soon. In test all coils fire correctly lights work, and displays work so I'm sure I just messed up wiring somewhere in there.

#4410 9 months ago

It's all of them from what I recall. I went through removing the wires one by one on that connector that was what was really throwing me off. Anyway no biggie. I've got a few more weeks of coaching for wrestling season and then I'll dig back into it.

Just what we need, a third entity doing stars....
Yes, Big Game would be the pick of the list as well. (Much as I would like a dragonfist pf, unless people decide to start building them like SG and QS's, I don't see that happening....)

I would also love a Dragonfist playfield.

#4470 9 months ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

I have a surprise for you. The astute classic Stern pinhead will notice this is a pic of my Dragonfist cabinet. He will also see that there is no play field.
[quoted image]
I tried to get something going with Stu at CPR. It did not happen. That is long story.
I have asked Mirco and he has said it is OK that I can now tell this. 4 months ago, Mirco agreed to reproduce my Dragonfist play field. Per Mirco, Dragonfist will be in production shortly. Very shortly.
My Dragonfist play field was in 99% good condition. It was just dirty deep down in the clear with swirl marks and crazed inserts. I expect to see a very nice reproduction of Dragonfist. I sent Mirco my plastics as well. I assume he will be offering the plastics as he is doing with Nine Ball. I like that he does this because it means the plastics will match the play field with matching colors.
So, there it is. Anybody who wants a Dragonfist play field will be able to assuage their lust in sort order.
4 months from start to finish.
You are welcome.

Thank you! He had offered to take mine as well but seeing as how he has had my Centaur playfield for over two years now I wasn’t super comfortable sending him

Got my apron decal from play_pinball over the weekend from the group buy her organized, again thank you, and got it applied for my Star Gazer build. Only two more weeks of wrestling season then I plan to dive back into finishing that project up.

As of today there is one more Star Gazer in the world! Anyone been keeping track of roughly how many of these have been built by people in the community now?

#4696 7 months ago
Quoted from SR230CC:

That looks like a great project. Anyone have a list on where to get all the parts? The major ones are easy to find. Are all the mechs available and the apron?

Three drop target banks and apron will be your harder to find stuff. Flippers and pops are available from pinball life, as well as standups. Spinners were hard to find but I think have been remade now. I actually ordered the three on this machine from Germany a few years ago.

Quoted from play_pinball:

Really the hardest thing to find is a reasonably priced donor game (OR just an old transformer since repro cabs are now available bare).
greatwichjohn makes the playfields and backglasses.
I’m making one out of a condemned Hot Hand soon. Not the “correct” transformer but for a 2-flipper game with a clear coated playfield I have no concerns about how fast it will play.

Yeah this one was converted from a Stern Electronics "Pinball" That I got for like $175 I think. The transformer is plenty powerful. I think those beefier ones were largely designed for the wide body game with 3 & 4 flippers. My buddy also built a quicksilver using a transformer from Dracula and I've played that and it also felt great.

#4702 7 months ago
Quoted from supermoot:

Tommy how did you do the standup targets? I've got the repro plastic faces from bigdaddy, I just haven't looked into what to combine them with very hard. I've got just about everything to do this or QS, I am excited.

Just stand up switches and brackets from pinball life. I’m holding off on quicksilver until this summer.

Quoted from frunch:

I just got to thinking this morning: we're approaching a point where our beloved classic Sterns will nearly be reproducible, brand new. As evidenced by a number of ambitious individuals on this thread, donor cabs + wiring harnesses + new playfields has been sufficient to convert some of the less desirable titles into beautiful new SG, QS, and more.
Following progress around the forums, it seems we're nearly at the point we'll be able to build these games *new*, though piecemeal.
Here's a new transformer from Homepin: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/homepin-official-thread-pinball-parts-machine-progress/page/87#post-5955243
New cabinets are here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/reproduction-classic-stern-cabinets-now-available
Third Coast Pinball seems to be the go-to for new wiring harnesses.
All new boards and displays are available from a number of sources, as well as playfields.
The only pieces left to the puzzle are game-specific parts, namely drop target banks (but I'm sure there's others in not thinking of). Even those seem to be coming along in this thread. Outside of that, i could see ball guide sets becoming available eventually as well. To my knowledge, many other targets and assemblies are available except kicker/slingshot arms.
Of course, there's still many other challenges, I'm sure (Catacomb bagatelle, for instance) and the chance of Viper or Iron Maiden and some others being remade seems slim due to low demand and more game-specific parts involved.
I'm sure I'm overlooking some important things, but i feel like we're headed in the right direction. I'm excited to see the day when we can buy (and build!) "new" Classic Sterns!

That day has been here for awhile. There are lots of people who have done it at this point. I know of someone who is building Fathoms as well, having the drop target mechs built even. Someone else on this forum has built MM, TAF, AFM, and others. It is all possible, just have to decide if it is worth the time and effort.

Anyone who can tell me the exact size for the spot meteor inserts for Meteor? I'm shopping my game out now and for whatever reason these three inserts are the only ones that are loose, it is like whatever plastic they used was bad and all three shrank and fell out. Anyway I'd like to replace them before I do any more work on the playfield. Thanks.

Help. I am the Homer Simpson of electronics trouble shooting.
I just got my Star Gazer build turned on last night. I was was doing a lot a test and shakedown playing.
In the middle of a game, it game stopped cold, reset itself, and when restarting it stopped at flash #6.
I cannot get the 7th flash. Pinwiki says something about 43 volts.
Where do i go looking for the gremlins?
Thanks.

Is this a new harness and boards or original stuff?

#4939 5 months ago

Yeah rectifier board and then the top right connector on the SDB has always been suspect on games where I get the 6 flashes/beeps.

Hello all - I have been trying to find a solution for the old Stern apron decals since our only option died with Pinball Resescue going out of business. I called in a favor and I'll report back the results. Here is my newly powdercoated Seawitch apron. I just sent it off to a silkscreen contact I have to get the art silkscreened directly on the apron. Fingers crossed.

Awesome! Please keep us posted. I've found the video on youtube of someone doing silkscreen stern aprons but when I reached out to them I never heard back from them.

So I just got done going through my Meteor and I'm planning to put it on location. I went to install brand new coin mechs in it last night and they don't seem to fit perfectly and they aren't really letting the quarters go through....

Anyone else experienced something similar? Common stern problem? Suggestions?

Star Gazer is almost finished. I have some small tweaks and adjustments to make. I do have this problem with my credit/ball in play display.
I need the number of credits being displayed to shift to the right. Right now, I have 40 credits loaded but you can only see the "zero".
These are the Pinitech UNOs. I don't see anything on Pinitech's instructions on how to deal with this issue.
Please share me your knowledge.

You want to use a 7-digit display there instead of 6, just how the game was designed.

#5618 51 days ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

My Big Game, Catacomb, Nine Ball, Seawitch all came to me with 6-digit displays. I just assumed 6-digit displays was factory.

I think they were but someone a long time ago mentioned in the Star Gazer owners thread how a 6-digit didn't line up well with Star Gazer credit/ball display but the 7 digit did so I just ordered it that way from pinitech.

Let's summon barakandl himself!
As far as I know, many free play roms/etc are already in Andrew's board, so generally burning new ROMs is not something that you need to do.
He can provide burning instructions. It would likely go into the 27512 expansion slot, and I'm not familiar how that would need to be programmed.

His older boards still took roms like originals.

Hey, would there be interest in stern 3-bank and 4-bank drop target assemblies if I could have them reproduced?

#5762 16 days ago
Quoted from megadeth2600:

You should also ask if people might want a redesigned drop target bank. Those older Bally/Stern banks are overkill. It might be better to design one that's more like a late 80s Williams bank (but obviously keep the Stern mounting holes).
I don't know how that would fly with collectors, but people doing builds may not care since it isn't original anyway ... plus it wouldn't impact gameplay at all.
Just a suggestion

.

I dunno I always liked the stern banks personally the way they drop so fast and smooth. But I’ll ask around.

This gets asked about a lot... A new SB-100 replacement. Coming soon, for real this time. Mostly finished this project a couple years ago but abandoned it back then for a lack of time.
Peek at the prototype. It is pretty much working fine . I need to fix up some minor stuff in a new board revision.

Does it make the sounds for the mpu-100 games not terrible?
