fyi, nx-1 tranformer from digikey is 50voltamps (volts x Amps= watts) this equates to watts or power ratings not 50volts ,

oh i'm sorry its the n-1x that you were looking at, i wanted to just point out it the specification ytou were looking at was in voltamp on the digikey site not in volts , I see voltamp ratings as a watt rating( energy dissipated) were voltage is (potential difference from ground zero ) and so it doesn't really answer your question and i apologize . I was trying to understand what you were trying to achieve and got hung up on some semantics, overall it sounds like you are making a 40 years old machines electronics accept new electronic components. for performance or a work around of scarce parts maybe .
