Folks
I got a Meteor and a Quicksilver.

When I turn them on both of them boot up ok but hang with a sound playing. Press start starts the game and the sound goes away but I just wondered why this is happening and can I fix it?

Am in the nine ball club. Does anyone know if there is a playfield for this? I don’t need it but with my quicksilver and soon meteor about to get a new play field I will want to do nine ball.

Anyone done any maintenance on sound boards? In my meteor and quicksilver when the game is turned on there is a drone noise that never stops. Doesn't do it on my Nine Ball. Wondering if I can fix it? Start a game and the sound is gone.

#2179 4 years ago
Quoted from tomdotcom:

I own Meteor, the drone never goes away. It's supposed to be there. It gets higher and higher pitched the more you score. It can't be shut off, that I am aware of.

no. This is when you turn the machine on. Nobody playing. When I start the game, yes I get the sounds of the game, but when the game is over the machine is silent.

#2711 4 years ago

My quicksilver doesn't have a post where the drops are but I can't understand why they would add it, It gets a lot of abuse and the star post on my went and took the plastic above it with it.

Folks

I've got an Ali and the flippers on it seem strange.

Does Ali have the same setup as Nine Ball / Quicksilver? We think the flipper base plates might have been changed...

Could someone take a picture of their underside?

Neil.

#3181 3 years ago
Quoted from slochar:

No, Ali has the earlier type 1 flipper mechs in them, shorter bushing, flat plate, shorter bat shaft. The change to the offset baseplate type occurred sometime during the production of Big Game.

do you know where I can get all the parts for that? Pretty much think I need the entire mechs for both flippers?

I get the ball bounce back on my meteor. A little bit of foam stuck to the opposite side fixed it.

Hey all, my son is embarking on becoming the next Jack Danger. Still some ways to go This week we shot my recently restored Stern Quicksilver.
Given he's only just turned 7, it's more directed towards kids, but you may enjoy also. There's a couple of decent games in there, haha.
If you're kids like pinball, please subscribe and show them the link.

fantastic! Lovely quicksilver!

Taking a poll here,
How many would be interested in a repro set of the SEI coin door trim set? 2 or the 3 hole option. I myself am having a hard time finding them in good condition.

Hell yes

Quoted from Tsskinne:

Freefall got finished up early this morning and made its way to location this evening. Come check it out if your near Lafayette Indiana as it appears we are one of only a few locations with it anywhere in the world.

Awesome - We just got one that will be in the UK Open then at pinball republic in London!

I got lucky on an amazing find for a bargain of the century!

Yeah that’s on our list to fix, game is in our lock up - hoping the flipper mechs haven’t been butchered!

I'd personally go weebly as it has ability to have more code options. I'm using weebly in my Ali with LEDs all good.

So how do I order a stargazer, Ali and alien star playfield?!

Neil

#9860 6 months ago

I'm using a burned ROM with an earlier weebly board with slochar 's amazing nine ball rom. It made the game go from a nice light box to a fully playable machine slochar is a superstar thank you.

#9861 6 months ago

quick question, original playfields - what are you using to clean them?

Neil.

#10262 4 months ago

As there doesn’t seem to be a freefall club my freefall has started to kick out two balls - sometimes at new ball kick out but it’s also done it mid game? I’m assuming something trough switch related but thought I’d ask here first?

ok so I have a stars with no chime unit.

Its got this weird french CPU board in it that does electronic sound (well it plays samples).

I really want to move to a weebly board as I run scorbit but I'm trying to figure out how I keep sound? Any one got any ideas?

Neil.

#10595 50 days ago
Quoted from slochar:

You could put a WAV trigger in but you'd have to either change the software or do the Arduino setup.
I think I redid magic to chimes for someone a couple years ago.... kind of the opposite of what you're asking

yeah I think i'm SOL on this unless I can get a chime unit. The current setup works ok I just wanted to move to a weebly board as I have that as the standard in all my games now.

Neil.
