In the club with a project MAGIC!
The inspector has already signed off on the project and already created a new file for a translite. Not worthy of sending to CPR for actual glass production however.
One flipper was sticking and the other would machine gun, a proper rebuild and installation of correct sized flipper coils fixed those issue.
I can't wait to tackle this once I get the Motordome finished.
Posted the last pic in the horror thread but was actually impressed with the mil-spec Amphenol connector!

Anyone happen to have a lockdown bar they would part with?
My project Magic came with out one and my efforts so far to find one have been fruitless.
Please PM me with details.

Data East bars will fit.

Good to know thanks!

Quoted from EasyEde:

For 2 years I try to paint my Dragonfist playing field.
However, I fail. The wood does not absorb the color. It seems to be a kind of oil in the wood. Has anyone of you members ever had a similar problem?
Or where can I be helped here in the forum.

I ended up with a superfluous Wild Fyre translite and would be willing to let it go at my cost + shipping.

Images attached are one with back lighting to show masking affect, second is the back side showing masking layer. Third is what it would look like w/o back lights on.

PM for details.

Happy Thanksgiving Pinsiders
Anyone with a magic can post or send me their connections here?
Mine had work done prior to my ownership and they are not marked nor keyed.
Ignore the ribbon cable pic, phone app won't let me delete it.

Did holographic printing even exist in 1979? Seems to me it would just be silver.

#2753 4 years ago
Quoted from woody76:

For plastics and stuff like that we UV printer and full laser cut/router we can cut things to shape

Interesting, curious to hear more about this. Could be something the pinheads here could benefit from on out of production, low run items?

I see some great work being put into some Wild Fyre projects. If anyone would like a replacement translite, I do have one available.
Mirror effect can be re-created with chrome vinyl, not AS good as original mirror of course but decent.

Not exactly a high-end restore but it no longer draws the eye to it.

Oh yes, much less distracting!

Thanks a bunch! That's very informative!

Here is a topic dedicated to restoration, if you have not found it yet.

Clearcoat on a cabinet?

Absolutely.

HEP does it all the time.

Don't know till you try!

Quoted from BorgDog:

I clear my cabs to even out the sheen of different paints and to smooth stencil edges and to add an extra layer of protection for the paint.

I even clear over decals. Like you say, an extra layer of protection.

#3045 4 years ago
Quoted from seshpilot:

For cabs, what kind of clear are you guys using? I'd like to try this but don't want to deal with the highly toxic stuff. Maybe that means I'm out.

I use typical 2 part auto clear but check the spray max club, you might be able to use that.

I still have an extra Wild Fyre translite if anyone is interested, make offer in PM.
Includes back masking layer and newly developed mirror vinyl front layer.

Quoted from Chalkey:

Does anybody have plans for making a stern or bally cab from scratch?

cosmokramer diligently looked into offering cab's, not necessarily early Stern, sadly shipping was a major headache:

So the top is tombstone and the bottom is chicklet? Huh. I always throught the TOP was chicklet, since.. as far as I know, chicklets were straight, no lips. Just square.

ditto

Picked up a Wild Fyre yesterday in hopes of converting it it to a Star Gazer. After looking it over, it seems much too nice to sacrifice. Looking for advice!!

If your BG is roached, I have an extra translite.
