I'd probably only focus on doing mods that would prevent possible damage--like the fuse magnet mod on TAF (to prevent a magnet locking on and buring the PF); or the drop target coil mod on STTNG (to prevent driver board damage in the head & in turn the diverter coil on the subway frying--if the thin wire ever breaks off the drop target coil).
But if your TZ ever starts resetting, you know where to start.

Guessing your divertor is worn and in need of replacement--the way to tell is if you have a lot of sloppy left to right movement.
If you don't want to spend the bucks, one trick you can try first is to simply place a flat washer in there to take up the slack.
The portion that retains the ball might also be bent.
