It's looking like I might need to trace wires in one or more wire harnesses to find a short-circuit in a Snow Derby I've been working on. The only other time I cut the bands holding a wire harness together (on another pin), I tried using regular scissors with great difficulty, then used a knife, but that wasn't much better. I've got zip ties to re-bundle them, but has anyone found a better tool for cutting the wire harness bands?

I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to give those a try.

    Thanks, @whizz

    Quoted from dr_nybble:

Ditto on the cutters. If you want to stay authentic try lacing cord: https://sourcetelsupply.com/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=32

I'm probably going to stick with zip ties for now, but that sounds like a great idea!

    Quoted from hazmat7719:

I use the Xcelite brand part number MS549JV diagonal cutter.

Thanks for the recommendation. I might actually use the exact same cutters for work. I'm a piano tuner, and I cut metal center pins with them. It never occurred to me to use cutters like that for this application.
