Is TPF not enough pinball for you? Want to check out Dallas' top (IMO) venue currently for location pinball, with many of the newest games, and some recent classics like Avat...(OKAY THERE'S NO AVATAR ANYMORE... >=( ) and Tron? Can't make it to all three days of TPF and just want to meet people and talk shop? Want a selection of 20+ quality ciders?
This is for you. (And me. I'm the guy that can't be there Saturday during the day at TPF and had to cancel my hotel room due to my job being designed by crappy human beings that have no concept of work/life balance.)
18 pinball machines per their site, but the number keeps changing. They've been adding more and more. I'm trying to get a current list and will edit soon as I have it.
2777 Irving Blvd
Dallas, TX 75207
When: 03/15/18 6pm-10pm (They're open until midnight, so feel free to stay later.)
Cost: 10.00 entry. No coin drop. All games on free play. Ciders start at 6 bucks, and no, they don't have hard liquor or other alcohol! No outside beverages allowed inside, drink at your car in the parking lot or on the street at your own peril. They typically have a cop stationed at the front. You can bring food in from other places, or have it delivered there via Uber Eats or whatever.
Current tap list: https://www.cidercade.com/ciders
Fair warning: Parking is kind of crap there. The parking lot itself is kind of small. Parking on the street that is adjacent (THE SIDE DRIVE, NOT THE MAIN PART OF THE ROAD!) is allowed and where a lot of cars end up.
Non-pinball things at Cidercade that are awesome:
Killer Queen. You don't even know. It's the most fun you'll ever have being a part of the hive, and the only 5 v 5 multiplayer ONLY arcade game you'll probably ever play. Bring your best bee puns, bee-atches. :p
Dariusburst EX: Another Chronicle - 4 player sit-down side scrolling bullet-hell type SHMUP. Lots of fun. Just realize you're going to die, a LOT, unless you're really good at bullet hell games, and don't give a crap because everything is on free play anyways!
Towerfall Ascension - Arcade version of popular smash-ish style 4-player brawler....but with 5000% more archery.
Tons of other retro arcade games. I personally get stuck on Killer Instinct 2 every time I go in there.
